Overview
Rural campsite set on a working farm in the idyllic village of Waberthwaite with views over the estuary one way and the fells the other, the options to explore are endless. The coastal pathway through the Lake District National Park is right on the doorstep which follows all the local beaches. Alternatively fell walks and local attractions such as Muncaster Castle or the La’al Ratty to Scafell Pike are a short drive away.
The local pub is a mile away as is the local shop.
This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
*Tents are not permitted on the majority of CS sites in Scotland
