    Top site for fishing

Horsley Club Site, near the North Downs. Perfect for fishing, relaxing, walking.

Our tranquil Horsley Club campsite lies just north of the beautiful Surrey Hills, popular for the network of footpaths that criss-cross them, including the long distance North Downs Way.

Horsley is a peaceful campsite tucked away down the end of a quiet lane. Although large, with some 120 pitches, campers are able to sit back and relax here – either watching the abundant wildlife – foxes, deer, rabbits and ducks are all regular visitors - or casting a line into the picturesque Horsley Lake – the campsite’s centre piece. Day fishing is available here.

The campsite has clean, modern facilities. There is a new children’s play area, dog walk and a recreation room.

The Horsley Jubilee Trail, starting at Horsley station, is a nine-mile circular walk taking in woods, historic buildings, great panoramas and a well-earned refreshment stop at a traditional English pub. You can enjoy more views of the area from Newlands Corner, a popular beauty sport in the Surrey Hills, just south of the campsite.

For days out visit the National Trust’s Polsden Lacey, a stunning Edwardian Manor House near Dorking, RHS Garden Wisely the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, and its huge plant collection, Bocketts Park Farm near Leatherhead and the Brookland Museum - home to Concorde - in Weybridge.

The theme parks Chessington World of Adventure, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all nearby.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fishing available from site opening to closing - seasonal or daily tickets are available. This site is located at the end of a "private lane" which is sign posted.

We have spent wonderful Spring and Summer days and nights at this gorgeous site. The site is off the A3 so very easy to get to and a great spot for visiting London, the nearest train station is in picturesque Horsley with trains to Waterloo under 30 mins. When arriving at the site you will be met with friendly staff who do a fantastic job at running this lovely site. There is a lake on your right which is great for fishing and spotting wildlife. There are some beautiful woodland walks through the back of the site which is great if you like walking or walking pets. The site is not too big and not too small it can get very busy but does not feel over crowded. It has a great atmosphere, they really are the friendly club! The shower block is always immaculate along with the utility rooms and great, affordable, brand new washing and tumble dryer facilities. Staying at this site gives you the best of both worlds country side retreat with horses galloping by in the neighbouring fields yet venture down the road and you could be in London with a whole host of things to do and see. If you don't own or want to hire or tow a unit or tent you could always opt in for there fantastic ready camps - they are larger than you see on other sites and can house 4-6 people, they have cute balconies to sit out on, kitchenettes, heaters, beds and all things necessary for a warm welcoming stay. Very reasonably priced too! You would be mad to miss out! Book now for next year, you won't be disappointed with what this club and site has to offer!

Booked this site following a recommendation from a friend who visited recently and I was not disappointed by the Lake and the fishing which was superb! The site itself is accessed by a private lane and only allows for 1 car/caravan and we encountered someone coming out! luckily there was one passing point but this was not big enough for the car and caravan so had to ask the guy to pull in to let us pass. I would hate to meet a caravan coming the other way. I also think that exiting the site is not the easiest as you have left hand turn through one gate and then you approach the exit gat at an angle and the gate itself is not the widest and I barely scrapped through missing the caravan walls by mere inches. Apart from this minor moan the site was tidy, clean and very quiet. The wardens were friendly and quickly showed us to our preferred slot. This site is great location for both Wisley and Brooklands. I will definitely be coming back next year

Wardens rude and not nice anymore! I feel they see there jobs as an ownership more than customer satisfaction! Where has the friendliness gone!!? In the 80s I used to stay at this lake almost every weekend and even became a fishing bailiff for the site warden, which I loved. Took my son to Horsley this weekend. Im so sad how things have changed! I will return, but so sad how much changes in time.
