In the Northumberland National Park, perfect for outdoor activities and great days out.

Located in the Northumberland National Park and Northumberland International Dark Sky Park – considered to be the most tranquil place in the UK – our Bellingham Club campsite will appeal to campers looking for relaxing break as well as those seeking adventure.

This is a level, well maintained campsite with modern facilities, a well-stocked site shop, short dog walk, children’s play area, warm indoor social space, drying room and games room. In addition to its 70 pitches, the campsite offers glamping accommodation in one of its four wooden camping pods. The pods are insulated with sheep's wool and are ideal for autumn/winter camping breaks. There are modern kitchen facilities available for those using the camping pods, larger groups by arrangement, and for general use at quieter times.

Buses to Hexham stop outside the site and it is possible to connect to the buses serving Hadrian’s Wall.

There are numerous walking and cycling opportunities from the site. You can walk to the busy village of Bellingham (20 mins) and then to the magical Hareshaw Linn waterfall through ancient woodland. Enjoy a walk along the riverbank of the idyllic North Tyne, fish for salmon, cycle the quiet lanes to Greenhaugh village, or spend the day in Kielder Water and Forest Park, northern Europe’s largest man-made lake, which is 25 minutes drive from the campsite. At Kielder, there are many cycle trials of varying length and difficultly, fishing and watersports. As befits an International Dark Sky Park, the whole area has exceptionally low light pollution and offers breathtaking night skies. A visit to the Kielder Observatory takes you closer to the stars.

History lovers will enjoy Hadrian’s Wall, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the remarkable National Trust properties of Cragside and Wallington.

This is our second stay, in a tent. The site is a nice layout, not too big and not too shaded.

This is our second stay, in a tent. The site is a nice layout, not too big and not too shaded. 15 minutes from Kielder, and all the trails it offers, makes it a great base if you like walking or you have dogs with you. If you're in a tent then road noise can be a problem - the road outside the site is not busy but the site is outside the 30mph limit of Bellingham, so people accelerate as the leave the village and go thundering past the site. But if you're not a light sleeper like me then this won't be of any concern. Recently opened is a fantastic campers' refuge, with a large indoor area consisting of tables, chairs, a cooking area, washing up facilities etc. if it's wet or windy then this is a brilliant bolt-hole. It's only been opened a few months and is immaculate; let's hope it doesn't get spoiled by anyone in the future. An excellent site, and we shall be back. Bellingham has a good butchers (beware of early closing) and the coop is well stocked with the essentials. It's a great base for a holiday.

Warm welcome from minute we arrived !! Pitch was good size ..we are a 7.5 m long motorhome...big grass area although very wet but enough room on hard standing to sit out. Very friendly village and 3 pubs...all very different ,,,one does food ..one has Sky Sports..one typical village pub...all equally as good and friendly!!!...and all dog friendly!! 15 min stroll into village from site...5 on country lane on footpath and then option of continue on f/path or down to River Tyne ...very pretty and picnic area....path comes out in middle of village. The waterfall walk opp garage is 3 miles and took us about one and half hours...was very muddy in places(April) and wellies order of day!! Well worth the walk through woodland along river to very impressive fall !!! Lovely village and excellent site....booked for August before we left!!!
