In the Northumberland National Park, perfect for outdoor activities and great days out.

Located in the Northumberland National Park and Northumberland International Dark Sky Park – considered to be the most tranquil place in the UK – our Bellingham Club campsite will appeal to campers looking for relaxing break as well as those seeking adventure.

This is a level, well maintained campsite with modern facilities, a well-stocked site shop, short dog walk, children’s play area, warm indoor social space, drying room and games room. In addition to its 70 pitches, the campsite offers glamping accommodation in one of its four wooden camping pods. The pods are insulated with sheep's wool and are ideal for autumn/winter camping breaks. There are modern kitchen facilities available for those using the camping pods, larger groups by arrangement, and for general use at quieter times.

Buses to Hexham stop outside the site and it is possible to connect to the buses serving Hadrian’s Wall.

There are numerous walking and cycling opportunities from the site. You can walk to the busy village of Bellingham (20 mins) and then to the magical Hareshaw Linn waterfall through ancient woodland. Enjoy a walk along the riverbank of the idyllic North Tyne, fish for salmon, cycle the quiet lanes to Greenhaugh village, or spend the day in Kielder Water and Forest Park, northern Europe’s largest man-made lake, which is 25 minutes drive from the campsite. At Kielder, there are many cycle trials of varying length and difficultly, fishing and watersports. As befits an International Dark Sky Park, the whole area has exceptionally low light pollution and offers breathtaking night skies. A visit to the Kielder Observatory takes you closer to the stars.

History lovers will enjoy Hadrian’s Wall, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the remarkable National Trust properties of Cragside and Wallington.

This was our second visit to this site.

This review is for Bellingham

This was our second visit to this site. It is such a beautiful area and the site is well placed to explore it by foot, car or, in my case, bike. It is well run by a helpful friendly couple who obviously take pride in keeping everything clean and efficient. We'll be back!

The Bellingham site was all you would expect from a Club site and more! the fantastic amenity of Wansbeck house where everyone can meet up in the evening round a cosy log burner was an absolute bonus. The local village was lovely and the pub in the square was really friendly, they did food and although we didn't eat there we saw them serving and it all looked great. We visited Vindolanda, a place not to be missed and of course the fabulous water gardens at Alnwick followed by afternoon tea at Howick gardens, the home of Earl Grey was amazing. We will certainly be going back to Bellingham and hopefully we will meet up again with some of the lovely people we met there this time.

We hadn't been on a short organised package before with the Club.

We hadn't been on a short organised package before with the Club. We met the other campers (17) at a reception at Wansbeck House, next to reception, on the first evening where we spent a friendly few hours and enjoyed wine and nibbles provided by Johanna, David, Alec and Jackie (our hosts). The gardens at Alnwick and Howick were contrasting but both lovely, and the walks the next day very enjoyable. After our free day of sightseeing, we met up again with the new friends and once again spent an evening of chatting and imbibing. The village of Bellingham is 15 to 20 mins walk from the site from where there is a lovely walk to Hareshaw Linn waterfall. We had very nice fish and chips at the Cheviots pub in the village. The site staff were always friendly and helpful and we hope to visit again before too long.
