Ideal site for exploring Teesdale & the Yorkshire Dales and outdoor pusuits.

If you’re looking for peace and tranquillity, a rural location with plenty of walking and cycling opportunities our Barnard Castle Club campsite is for you.

Located on the north eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, handy for the attractions of Teesdale and within walking distance of Barnard Castle or Barney as it is known locally, the tree-lined campsite is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

This pretty tree-lined campsite has 90 pitches. The camping field is level and has a well placed modern facilities block offering showers/toilets, a laundry, disabled facilities, a parent and child room and a dish washing area.

There are plenty of walks direct from the site and an excellent dog walk for those who don’t want to venture too far. Children are catered for with a play area and the visiting fish and chip van comes highly recommended.

There’s fishing at Balderhead and Hury reservoirs to the west of the site.

For days out visit the Bowes Museum, Bolton Castle, the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre, the Dales Countryside Museum and England’s highest unbroken waterfall, High Force.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

As is usual for club sites, another excellent site.

This review is for Barnard Castle

As is usual for club sites, another excellent site. We stayed for two nights with the motorhome. Very helpful staff showed us around. The facilities are very very well laid out and in excellent condition. The site is very rural and quiet, flat and well drained down a little lane just outside of town. For a peacefull break it was great. We walked into town on the path over a couple of fields and through the local woods into town It took 30 minutes. Barnard Castle is a stunning little town, castle, shops, pubs and river walks. All in all, another peacefull little gem in the club itinerary.

Our first visit to Barnard Castle won't be our last. The site and staff were very helpful on arrival. The site/shower block is very clean and has a fish and chip van on site Wednesday's and Saturdays, Barnard Castle is only a short walk through a lovely woodland area if you like walking, Barnard Castle is a lovely town with quite a few shops, resturants and public houses.

Having found Barnard for the first time, we will certainly be back.

This review is for Barnard Castle

Having found Barnard for the first time, we will certainly be back. Spotless and immaculate campsite with loads to do and see in the surrounding area. Barnard Castle itself being a great little town with a good diversity and, it seems, a lot of importance placed on local produce for the local market. Seems to sit nicely as a link between our exploring of North Yorkshire and the Hadrians Wall area we love so much.
