Camp on the edge of the rolling valleys of Teesdale and the rugged wilderness of the Yorkshire Dales at Barnard Castle Club Site. Located on the edge of the pretty and historic market town of Barnard Castle, this campsite is a glorious rural retreat ideal for campers of all kinds.
Iconic walks
This tree-lined site welcomes caravans, motorhomes, tents, and trailer tents, and is situated on a level field just over a mile from the town. There is a modern facilities block, children’s play area, small shop, and motorhome service point. In addition to pleasant local walks, the site is conveniently close to iconic routes, such as the Pennine Way. This trail follows the River Tees and passes by impressive sights, including High Force and Cauldron Snout waterfalls.
Castles and abbeys
Barnard Castle is a charming place to spend an afternoon. From the imposing castle itself to the many quirky and quaint antique shops, there is a lot to entertain. The town is also home to Bowes Museum, a grand-looking building filled with art and relics from the past. Just outside the town are the ruins of Egglestone Abbey, which are particularly impressive at sunrise or sunset.
