Stay in the grounds of a fairytale Scottish castle on the South Ayrshire coast, with sunsets to die for.

Pitch in the grounds of the cliff top Culzean Castle Club campsite and you’ll be rewarded with stunning views across the Firth of Clyde to the islands of Arran and Ailsa Craig, and the Mull of Kintyre. Our campsite here is in an area rich with beautiful countryside and coastline, fantastic walking, stunning beaches and many interesting places to visit.

Our spacious, secure 90-pitch site welcomes all camping units and offers good facilities for campers including showers, toilets, washing up area and a children’s play area.

The National Trust for Scotland managed Castle and Country Park are a short walk away and includes five kilometres of coastline with sand dunes, caves, rock pools and sand and shingle beaches.

Fishermen can enjoy some fly fishing at Mochrum Loch close to the site. The 24 acre loch is stocked with brown, blue and rainbow trout.

Head north from the campsite and you’ll come to the coastal town of Ayr with its many shops, bars and restaurants. Just before you reach Ayr, the Burns Heritage Park in Alloway is worth a detour.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Worth Noting

Some pitches are sloping and chocks will be required. Please note that mobile phone reception for some networks is poor. Steel awning pegs required for hardstandings. Please note only one car per unit is allowed on site. TV reception can be poor. In 2016 the site underwent a full winter refurbishment – all roads are now tarmac. There are new toilet facilities and the double row of hardstanding pitches are staggered allowing most pitches a lovely view of Arran and the sea.

A most enjoyable stay in what can only be described as a wonderful location off the beaten track. We stayed over for only three nights visiting family in Ayr. The views over the Firth of Clyde and onwards to Arran were delightful and as an added bonus the farmer was harvesting his summer barley in the field next to the site. Boy did he work hard!!! The welcome on arrival was warm and helpful. We were given a couple of pitch options and shown to those by one of the wardens, and chose one with sea views. The facilities were spotlessly clean, warm showers and bags of hot water. We loved it and will definitely come back - who wouldn't with those views and the splendid Culzean Castle next door.

This is a nice site staff friendly enough and everywhere was very clean. However there are no signs on the road, apparently not allowed by national trust so nothing can be done by site staff but if you turn in to the castle grounds as soon as you get in the site is signed and very easy to find. Castle and grounds are lovely but we didn't find a lot else to do in the area

A beautiful site with walking access to castle, grounds & beaches.

A beautiful site with walking access to castle, grounds & beaches. Wardens very friendly, welcoming & helpful. Well stocked shop, good play area & dog walk. My only gripe is not being able to change temperature of showers as a bit hot. But spotless facilities. Can't fault the place.

Nice site but really unfriendly warden, any question appeared to be beneath them to answer.

Nice site but really unfriendly warden, any question appeared to be beneath them to answer. We asked about changing pitch as we were next to a really noisy family and positioned so people walked through our pitch to the toilets, however we were told no. Annoyingly they said the site was full, but at 7am the next morning there were still about 8 spots on the far side of the loos free! These backed onto the hedge so would have been perfect. Loos and showers clean and there was enough of them. You have to pay for wifi and no access to the beach.
