Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

We are a friendly, family-owned campsite in the rural village of Kenardington, on the edge of Romney Marsh. The campsite is a well maintained five acre site, edged with trees and a small pond for fishing. Close by is the town of Rye, steeped in history. The Royal Military Canal runs from Rye to Folkestone and is a great walk. The pebbled haven of Dungeness is a real haven for wildlife; seals and dolphins are regularly seen from the beach and if birdwatching is your thing then the gravel pits are a stopover for migratory birds. The Rare Breeds Centre is a mile away and a great day out for the kids. Ashford International station, Eurotunnel and Dover port are within a 30 minute drive. Post office/shop, pub, takeaway and railway station within 2 miles. It has a toilet/shower block with washing-up facilities and is five minutes to a bus stop.

My husband and I recently spent five nights at Battle Hill Farm and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site is slightly sloping in places but the area where we were was very level. There are toilets and a shower but we didn't use these as we prefer to use the washroom in our caravan, but they looked fine. The washing up area was very useful for cleaning our Cadac. We received a warm welcome and were not bothered at all during our stay. We did a couple of walks from the site by the Royal Military Canal and through Gusbourne Vineyards. A really lovely rural area. We also visited Rye and Camber Sands. If you want a peaceful get away we would recommend this site and would be happy to return.

Suzanne is a fabulously friendly host. The site is easily to access with a short single track to get there. We have now stayed there several times and call it our favourite local short stay break. There are plenty of places to visit with beautiful walks in the local area. Lots of information available. Toilets are always clean. Only down side is the nearest shop is a drive away. Plenty of room for dogs with additional dog walking area on site. It is a very quiet and peaceful setting.

Lovely peaceful campsite Peaceful well maintained site.

Lovely peaceful campsite Peaceful well maintained site. We stayed 2 nights in August and the site was quiet, you can easily explore the beautiful country side from the site, take a walk down to the canal, past the church. We saw kingfishers and a spotted flycatcher at the canal. Cycling is great too as the lanes are quiet and flat! Facilities onsite are clean and the 1 shower and 3 loos were adequate with no queueing.
