    Top site for beaches

On Scotland's sunshine coast, to the east of the country's capital, Edinburgh.

Our peaceful Dunbar Club campsite is just a stone’s throw from the popular East Lothian seaside town of the same name and adjacent to Whitesands Bay - a long stretch of sandy surfing beach.

Spectacular landscapes surround the campsite, ensuring wherever you are pitched you have a stunning view. Seaward the impressive views extend over the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock – temporary nesting spot for 150,000 seabirds during peak season.

The campsite is well laid out and spacious with 115 pitches, some of which are hardstands. Modern facilities, including a wetsuit shower are available.

Dunbar, three miles from the campsite, offers shops, places to eat and more beaches. East beach, minutes from the town centre is great for bathing, paddle boarding and sea kayaking.

Inland other attractions include East Links Family Park with animals and a narrow gauge railway; the Museum of Flight at East Fortune and the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick, where you can view gannets, puffins and seals from interactive live cameras.

WiFi

The WiFi service is excellent throughout the campsite. Prices.

Worth Noting

Sandy beach 1 mile from site, most pitches have sea views and there’s a large picnic area overlooking coast. Wetsuit shower available. Large Sunday market/car boot sale every week at East Fortune 10 miles away. Very windy site, steel rock pegs recommended. New dog exercise area.

Eat Local

Belhaven Fruit Farm is 4 miles from site. Dunbar High Street has numerous cafes, an organic greengrocer, community bakery and wet fish shop.

Into double figures for visits to this site , lovely site area etc, but overall have to say that frank elizabeth and the team have taken the site to the next level , fantastic job they have done with the site, plus friendly clean , well taken care off , nothing a problem at all first class . One small downside which seems to be a recurring problem on our travels this year with c.c.c.no supply of newspapers , simple thing but for us important part , come on. C.c.c. surely should be addressed and rectified , after all few sites that do offer papers you have to pay in advance

We arrived as a group having asked for 3 pitches together near the very nice playpark which we got thankfully, as we were all with small kids we were trying to create a small settlement where we could keep an eye on the kids and not be too far from each other but no, tents MUST be 6 metres apart for fear of 1 tent catching fire and leaping to the next! Ludicrous rule, no one in there right mind has anything flammable going on in there tent and to suggest we would be doing such with small kids around is insulting. Unsure if this is the campsites rule or a new, ridiculous health and safety stipulation! Either way, it caused us some upset as someone then had to go to bed with the kids in each tent to make sure they were fine as so far away from each other. Cheers. Now i am not being totally negative about Dunbar as it is a great campsite and lovely , helpful staff (most of them) and is next to a great little town and nice walks or bike rides available. My next point is a helpful one fir everyone on the site, why do the toilets/shower block close for cleaning for 1.1/2 hours from 10.30-12???? You are asked to vacate for 12pm so you need to be up and ready long before that just for cleaning! Very good, clean facilitys yes but change it to 12.30-2 for everyones sake please!! We had payed nearly 60 for 2 nights stay until 12pm so we should be able to use the facilitys until then. Thank you.....

We have camped for many years at many sites but this site in Dunbar has to be the cleanest, friendliest and well maintained that I have visited. We have changed from camping to caravaning and this was our first trip with a caravan. We were anxious to say the least but it was perfect within a beautiful location. It had a great atmosphere as there's we're young and old couple, young families and dogs too. Last night I believe there was a wedding in a nearby hotel and we could hear the music, it didn't trouble us at all, in fact it added to the lovely atmosphere. In saying that it is a peaceful site and we had a great sleep on all three nights....we'll be back, can't recommend it highly enough.
