The surrounding area

Beautiful beaches, stunning cliffs, pretty villages and quaint hamlets all make up Cornwall’s unspoilt Roseland Peninsula. It’s here you’ll find our charming Veryan Club campsite just off the Roseland Heritage Coast. The South West Coast Path is a mile and a half from site and the great beaches of Veryan - Carne Beach, Pendower Beach with East and West Portholland Beaches just a little further.

The mild climate in and around the Roseland Peninsula means plants flourish here. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project, and the National Trust’s wonderful Trelissick Garden are testament to this.

Head to St Mawes, south of the campsite. From this pretty fishing village, catch the ferry to the seaside town of Falmouth. As well as great beaches, Falmouth offers the National Maritime Museum of Cornwal and Pendennis Castle.

New hard standings , new road no fish chip van as he has retired, no Bus unless you walk 1/5 miles on narrow roads to the garage, which is not a good idea, as no footpaths or street Lighting, when I arrived the grass pitches were closed and they suggested a hard standing and they said that's another amount of money, all not good as this place is empty and closes in a month. I shall not be returning any day soon

Superb experience camping at Veryan recently with our family of four.

This review is for Veryan

Superb experience camping at Veryan recently with our family of four. Received a very warm welcome on arrival including detailed information on site facilities and layout. We had a choice of two locations to pitch our tent and ended up in a great spot, sheltered by an area of trees and not too far from toilet/shower block. Pitch was not 100% level but perfectly good enough. Amongst the best features of this site is how quiet it is and how well spaced out the pitches are. Despite staying during the middle of August we had plenty of space around us and didn't feel crammed in at all. Whisper quiet at night! The children enjoyed the playing field and queuing for the fish and chip van when it visited. We walked to one of the local pubs for a meal one evening (The New Inn) - about a 40 minute walk through some very quiet lanes and footpaths. We really enjoyed our stay at Veryan and will definitely be back.

The site is very open with no separation between pitches, and the grass pitches are quite sloped. The facilities are good and clean. We found the staff unfriendly, not acknowledging our presence around the site, not saying good morning etc, and not helpful with our unexpectedly early arrival. We were made to feel totally in the wrong and in the way and that we should have known better, which was a very bad start to the holiday.

“The site staff at Veryan could not have done more to make our stay an enjoyable one. The site is well maintained and kept tidy. Near to many local attractions, and also secluded walks and beaches, the site position means that most places of interest are within an hours journey in the car. We would recommend this site without hesitation.”
