Big news: Dog-friendly lodges have arrived!

Dog running

We’ve always said that Braithwaite Village is a place for the whole family to make memories—and let’s be honest, those memories are just a little bit brighter with a wagging tail in the picture.

You asked, we listened, and now we’re officially "unleashing" the news: Dog-friendly lodges have arrived!

Two lodges, infinite tail-wags

We know that for many of you, a holiday doesn't feel like a holiday if a member of the family is left behind at a kennel. To make sure everyone can enjoy the magic of the lakes, we have transformed two of our ten lodges into dog-friendly retreats.

Whether it's a post-hike snooze by the deck or a cosy evening curled up after a day of splashing in the water, your pup is going to love it here just as much as you do.

The "Red Carpet" treatment

We aren't just allowing dogs; we’re welcoming them with open paws. To celebrate our new guests, we’ve got some special treats in store:

  • The VIP (Very Important Pup) Welcome Kit: The first 50 furry guests to check in will receive a limited-edition treat box, featuring a handy collapsible water bowl, branded essentials, and some delicious snacks to fuel their Lakeland explorations!
  • See it for yourself: Want a sneak peek? Check out our brand-new video and gallery to see exactly where your pup will be dreaming of squirrels.

A perfect balance for every member

We want every guest to have their perfect stay. To ensure we remain a peaceful haven for everyone—including those with allergies or those who simply prefer a pet-free environment—we’ve found the perfect "paw-sitive" balance:

  • Pet-free peace: 8 of our 10 lodges will remain strictly pet-free.
  • The rule of two: We welcome up to two well-behaved dogs per lodge.
  • High standards: Our dog-friendly lodges receive the same deep-cleaning love as the rest of our site, ensuring a pristine stay for every human (and hound).

Join the celebration!

We are so excited to see those first paws hitting the deck. Keep an eye on our social media for more cuteness, and don't forget to tag us in your holiday snaps.

New booking system

We launched a new booking system on 3rd February and the look and feel of our booking pages now reflects the design of the rest of our website, with an improved layout for mobile devices. Further improvements are planned, and we will share updates on this page in due course. If you have questions about the new system visit our FAQs page.

Network evolution

Dedicated improvements at 65 Club Sites for the start of the season.

Over the winter we have spent £1.4mn completing 110 tasks on 65 Club Sites, improving the camping experience for our members.

Works have included better drainage at Blackmore Club Site, plus the installation of 212 solar panels across two buildings.

At Braithwaite Village Club Site, our self-catering lodges are being completely refreshed, with updated décor and furniture.

Moffat Club Site will benefit from new flooring in the shower facilities.

These tasks come on top of a new modular facility block which we unveiled at the start of the 2025 camping season at our Tarland Club Site in Scotland, which includes toilets, showers, laundry and more.

Ongoing works for 2026

Exciting developments will soon be underway at Braithwaite Bridges to create a five-star touring destination. Campers can look forward to spacious new tent pitches, state-of-the-art facilities, a back-to-nature play area, winding paths through a wildflower meadow, a bike wash station, and a dedicated dog walk — all designed to offer an unforgettable experience.

We bought the Beadnell Bay Club Site in Northumberland, as well as additional land, and we hope to develop this stunning coastal campsite with improved pitches and facilities.

Future developments

Providing excellent facilities for our campers is a top priority and improving them across our sites is always at the forefront of our minds. We’re also looking at other camping options to allow people without units to stay with us, making camping accessible to all.

We will continue to investigate campsite acquisitions and refurbishments in areas where they can add real value to the experience of Club members.

Celebrating our 125th anniversary in 2026

For 125 incredible years, we've been inspiring the camper in everyone. This anniversary is more than a milestone; it’s a celebration of our community and the members who continue to bring our Club to life. Every experience, every story, and every shared moment over the past 125 years exists because of our members and all of our employees. We’re proud to honour the legacy we’ve built and the future we’re still creating.

To find out more about what is happening at the Club this year, and how you can get involved in the anniversary, visit our dedicated web page which will be updated throughout the year.

Age Concession rename – welcome 60+ saver!

Already a member, but not a 60+ saver?

If you’re aged 60 or over and you joined the Club at any time before April 2025, there’s no reason not to apply our 60+ saver rate to your Club Site bookings.

To get your membership updated to 60+ saver, simply show proof of age at reception along with your membership card on your next visit to a Club Site, and the team will arrange for your membership to be updated.

To make sure you benefit from your extra discount, just select ‘60+ saver’ when you book online.

The 60+ Saver rate is applied to the basic pitch night price, but not to any additional service charges, such as hardstanding and electric.

Infrastructure upgrades

Site manager at Windermere Campsite

We’ve always been focused on the whole camping experience at our Club Sites. From booking with ease, arriving on site to a friendly welcome and being shown to your pitch, we take care of everything.

We have invested significantly in infrastructure upgrades at our sites to ensure full compliance and safety when you stay with us. This includes improving technology for easier check-ins and updates to our site electrics.

A unique experience

And finally, we will of course continue to offer the unique experience that comes with Club membership; the friendly welcome, discounts at our Club Sites, and access to member-only Certificated Sites.

When you book with us, you can be assured that the campsite will be well-maintained, you will feel safe and welcome, and you will be ready to enjoy everything the incredible outdoors has to offer.

We can’t wait to see you soon.
Welcome to the incredible outdoors.
