The coastline of Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula is as hazardous as it is beautiful, with hundreds of ships dashed to pieces over the centuries on The Manacles and other submerged rocks that line this stretch of sea. Since the advent of satellite navigation the route to Falmouth past the Lizard is far less treacherous than it used to be, but passing vessels still need to take care, particularly in bad weather. It’s partly thanks to this tragic past, however, that the Lizard Peninsula has become known as one of the UK’s leading destinations for scuba diving. Just an hour’s drive from Sennen Cove Club Site this area is ideal for Club members thinking of having a go at diving while on holiday in Cornwall.
