Overview

Venture out to our most northerly Scottish campsite in the Western Highlands.

  • On the edge of Loch Ewe
  • 10 minute walk to Inverewe Gardens
  • Whale cruises

The surrounding area

Our Inverewe Gardens Club campsite shares its name with the world-famous tropical Inverewe Gardens created by Osgood Mackenzie in 1862. This lush oasis perches on a peninsula at the edge of Loch Ewe surrounded by more than 2,000 acres of conservation estate.

There are plenty of walks to be enjoyed from site or cycle to Inveradale around the Loch. Further north Rubha nan Sasan, beyond Cove is home to a range of WWII command posts and gun emplacements which helped guard the entrance to Loch Ewe during the war.

Nearby Gairloch has a heritage Museum and Marine Life Centre offering daily cruises to survey dolphins, whales and seals.

This site is the Jewel in the Crown, beautiful views, lovely sunsets over the loch, peaceful. Easy access to site, very helpful and friendly wardens. Site kept neat and tidy although a fairly busy site it didn't affect our perfect stay. Grocery shop close by for motorhomers. Need to book. If in the area again will certainly try to stay there.

Lovely loch side site, facilities a little tired but kept very clean and tidy, lovely laid out site with plenty of flowerbeds, grass only pitches on road side a little on the small side, but adequate, get in line early for your fish and chips as very popular and we had about 3/4 hour wait, but well worth it.

Most importantly you need to book this site in advance.

Most importantly you need to book this site in advance. All the time we were there the site was full for caravans and motorhomes due to the popularity of the NC500 route, which runs past the site. A lovely site looking out over Loch Ewe, albeit separated by a road. Glorious sunsets. Facilities were the oldest that we have come across at a Club site, and this showed with a number of leaks etc during our stay. However they are still above most non club sites! They are immaculately clean. There are beautiful flower beds and the site is reasonably sheltered apart from the front few pitches. We survived Storm Hector in a pop top camper van. Great walks from the site - just ask Stuart. Otherwise go the beach at Gairloch and drive up to Cove. Local market well worth visit on Tuesdays. Poolewe Hotel has good food. Fish and chips next to site on Friday nights. Small shop in Poolewe but no fresh local produce, you can get that at Gairloch. It is a long way north!

My favourite site! A pretty, small site with a very friendly welcome! Stuart (one of the wardens) very knowledgeable about local walking/off road cycling routes and local bays etc worth visiting. Several longer walks accessible without having to take motorhome off site during stay. Wonderful to have electric showers without push-buttons/timers! A spotlessly clean gem of a site :-)
