The surrounding area

Our Inverewe Gardens Club campsite shares its name with the world-famous tropical Inverewe Gardens created by Osgood Mackenzie in 1862. This lush oasis perches on a peninsula at the edge of Loch Ewe surrounded by more than 2,000 acres of conservation estate.

There are plenty of walks to be enjoyed from site or cycle to Inveradale around the Loch. Further north Rubha nan Sasan, beyond Cove is home to a range of WWII command posts and gun emplacements which helped guard the entrance to Loch Ewe during the war.

Nearby Gairloch has a heritage Museum and Marine Life Centre offering daily cruises to survey dolphins, whales and seals.

We arrived on a very windy afternoon, near the end of the season. Given a nice pitch, not far from the facilities. We made good use of the laundry room, both for washing machine and dryer, as over halfway through a fortnight of travelling around Scotland. Short walk to the Hide to watch life on, and above, the Loch. Overnight was extremely windy, but I'm sure that was not specific to the site!

Beautiful location looking out on Loch Ewe which was used by the Russian Arctic Convoys as a home base. Numerous walks from location. Staff, David, Dianne, Brian and Rhona were friendly and very knowledge about the local area. This is a small site, plenty of hard standing, however grass was sodden and there was evidence, and we saw it happening of people driving across the grass and churning it up. Not the sites fault, just idiots in van. The facilities were spotless, with the site team constantly checking them. However they were dated and a re-vamp would be nice. Didnt use the laundry or dishwashing facilities but they appeared well laid out. There is a camper van point but it is so tight it is virtually unusable. We spent a lovely time at the site and would definitely like to return
