Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Bwlchgwyn is a family run camping and caravanning site situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is less than a mile from the picturesque seaside village of Aberdaron. The caravan site itself boasts 10 electric and 5 non-electric level and spacious pitches and offers free shower facility on site. A leisurely walk /short drive of less than a mile takes you to the old white-washed village of Aberdaron, with its sheltered, sandy, award-winning beach (awarded the Blue Flag again in 2018). Amenities at the village include a bakery, 2 popular pubs/restaurants offering lunchtime and evening meals, grocery store, newsagents, fish and chip shop and several cafes. Join the coastal path directly from the site up to Anelog Mountain from where panoramic views of the peninsula in its entirety and beyond can be enjoyed. Walk the stunning coastal path along cliff-tops and through hidden coves and beaches. Pre-book the Llyn Coastal Bus to pick you up directly from site to transport you to/from different points on the coastal path. Bwlchgwyn Campsite is perfect for a relaxing stay or an ideal base for a busy adventure family holiday.

Good points: relatively level well-drained field. Clean facilities.

This review is for Bwlchgwyn

Good points: relatively level well-drained field. Clean facilities. No additional charge for shower. Bad points: told to take and pitch I wanted on booking. On arrival asked to move to another pitch as "someone else was coming". The site was completely empty and no-one else came. odd way to welcome someone. Toilet and shower in a metal container. Very limited space and no shower curtain made it awkward. suggest that the owners try it themselves sometime? Not suitable for anyone claustrophobic! Tap at chemical disposal point not working. Needs fixing as others might well decide to use the fresh-water tap instead. Left early so did not rouse owners to tell them. Note for tent campers: no dish-washing facilities and a very exposed location (windy) - that is of course par for the course on the Llyn Peninsular and is not a criticism of this particular site. Overall I felt that it was poor value for money as £20 per night for one person.
