Gentle strolls and more challenging climbs can both be enjoyed near this Club Site.

Our Hayfield Club campsite sits at the foot of the Dark Peak area of the Peak District National Park. This is walking country where you can enjoy anything from a gentle stroll to a more challenging climb. If you prefer the former, Hayfield village (the backdrop for the BBC’s TV drama The Village) is a 15-minute stream-side stroll from the site. For the latter, a walk up Lantern Pike rewards you with a 360 vista over seven counties. The walk up Kinder from the west side is one of the classic excursions of the Peak District. The walk starts at Bowden Bridge car park and takes around four-and-a-half hours.

Catch your breath and relax at Hayfield. This is a peaceful campsite in a secluded location with excellent on site facilities including a family/disabled washroom, drying facilities, children’s play area and a well-stocked site shop.

The surrounding area has a variety of attractions. East of the site at Castleton is Peveril Castle. Make the climb to the hilltop where the Norman fortress sits and you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views across the Hope Valley. Castleton is home to a series of caverns including the Blue John Cavern famous for its minerals, fossils, stalagmites and stalactites.

The Freshfields Donkey Sanctuary, Quarry bank Mill and Styal Estate in Wilmslow and Go Ape! At Buxton Country Park are other popular local attractions.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Camping Pods are available at this campsite.

Just spent 4 nights amidst the autumnal colours on this well maintained site. Such a peaceful location, a lovely 15min walk by the river into Hayfield, lots of footpaths with easy walks as well as strenuous ones to Kinder Scout and amazing views. I received a lovely welcome from Stephen, and all the staff (Jane and David) were friendly and helpful. All facilities were really clean, and I shall certainly return to this site, I didn't want to leave!

Wonderful site in stunning location, quiet and peaceful. We messed up our booking but the staff were so helpful in making sure we could pitch near friends. The walking from the site is fantastic. After a long walk, there is a great choice of pubs close by. Dog friendly too. Will definitely be back.

Really lovely site.

Really lovely site. I turned up as a bike packed unannounced and undecided as to whether I was going to keep going further. The really friendly, helpful staff helped me decide to stay. The drying room is such a great facility for those with a load of wet kit like me. Staff recommended the pub The Sportsman - just up the road and even suggested the steak sandwich - amazing! This would make a great base for anyone liking walking, mountain biking etc. Thank you

Great site to visit, spotless facilities and very helpful friendly staff, walk into town is about 15 minutes and choice of pubs/cafe. Shops in town for basic food etc. We stayed four nights and only left site with the car for one day. 10 well marked walks from the site and Hayfield is very nice, we ate at the Royal Hotel in the village and the Sportsmen near the site, both very good. Steve and Jane and their staff are a credit to the club, 10/10 for everything. We will return next year I am sure- loved it, Thank You Jane, Steve and the staff.
