Trees are a regular feature of most camping trips though usually providing the scenic backdrop. However with the Tentsile, trees are the supports that keep these tents off the ground. The tents were the brainchild of Alex Shirley-Smith back in 2002 who built a prototype of a collapsible treehouse in his living room. Ten years later the concept moved noticeably forward when Alex joined up with designer and inventor Kirk Kirchev and the Tentsile Stingray, the company’s flagship product, was born.
