My past experience of pop-up tents is that they have been cheap and cheerful, bordering on disposable. Usually the sort of tent you want to take to a festival for a quick and easy camp-over, and then ditch the following day (responsibly of course). They are often easy to manage with the minimum of fuss if it’s a trip for one or two of you. During a Camping & Caravanning tent testing day at Drayton Manor Club Site in Staffordshire, Decathlon’s Quechua 2 Seconds Easy II Fresh&Black smashed my prejudice towards this sort of tent. Yes, it popped up in seconds, almost as fast as the name suggests. And it secured easily using four tent pegs, one at each corner, with no need for guy ropes. However the similarity ends there.
