The Camping and Caravanning Club has revealed the best places to visit in 2026, highlighting new attractions offering unique experiences and historic buildings set to star on TV and film.

Some of the locations are also perfect for testing out three of this year’s top travel trends, set-jetting, quiet-cations – seeking out quiet time and a break from technology - and off-grid travel.

The must-visit locations span all corners of the UK and include:

  • Kynren Park – County Durham
A new historical attraction is set to launch at Kynren this summer. Kynren - The Storied Lands is a historical theme park where visitors will be able to watch bird shows and enjoy live-action shows set around Viking battles, Neolithic and Victorian Britain, each featuring storytelling, stunts and music. The park has an average online star rating of 4.8, based on 2,432 reviews.
Stay at: Barnard Castle Club Site. From £11.30 per night.

  • Chatsworth House – Derbyshire
2026 promises big things for lovers of period drama films and the set-jetting trend – travel inspired by TV and film - is here to stay. Wuthering Heights will be released in February while a new adaption of Pride and Prejudice will be available for streaming later this year. The last major film adaptation of Jane Austen’s most famous work was released in 2006 with many scenes filmed at Chatsworth House, which is also expected to star in this version.
Stay at: Crowden Club Site. From £10.15 per night.

  • Ashdown Forest – West Sussex
2026 marks the 100th anniversary of Winnie the Pooh. Author AA Milne lived on the edge of Ashdown Forest, the magical setting of the fictional Hundred Acre Wood, home to Winnie, Eeyore and Piglet.
Stay at: Graffham Club Site. From £10.15 per night.

  • Hull – East Yorkshire
Hull has been named one of the top 25 global destinations to visit in 2026 by National Geographic. The city is celebrating 800 years of maritime history as one of England’s leading ports, with the Maritime Museum reopening following a nearly £30million refurbishment.
Stay at: Slingsby Club Site. From £10.50 per night.

  • North East 250 - Moray-Speyside
The North East 250 is one of ten Scotland touring routes recommended by the Club. The route takes in several off-grid locations and starts in Moray-Speyside, before taking in the country’s ‘granite coast’ and branching off inland to the edge of the Cairngorms and the Balmoral Estate. Rare artefacts from the Titanic will be on display at the Aberdeen Titanic Exhibition between 28th March and 12th April.
Stay at: Tarland and Speyside Club Sites. From £7.45 per night.

  • Tollymore Forest Country Park – County Down
Tollymore Forest is home to pine martens and red squirrels and sits at the foot of the Mourne Mountains, covering 1,600 acres. The Park was used as one of the primary filming locations for Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a prequel to Game of Thrones, that’s set to launch on 19th January.
Stay at: Delamont Country Park Club Site. From £10.95 per night.

  • Portmeirion – Gwynedd, North Wales
2026 marks 100 years since the opening of the Portmeirion Hotel and the 60th anniversary of the filming of The Prisoner. Events to mark the milestones are planned at the Italianate holiday village, including The Prisoner Convention Portmeirion (24th-26th April), featuring human chess.
Stay at: Llanystumdwy Club Site. From £10.50 per night.

Madeleine Birch, the Club’s PR and Events Manager, said: “From sports to literature, TV and the big screen, 2026 promises lots of must-see events and the campsite is an ideal base to discover them.

“If you don’t fancy one of our top picks, why not do a stadium tour and get inspired for a summer of football, or pay a trip to the Lakes and get involved with the Beatrix Potter 160 celebrations? There are plenty of new experiences waiting to be explored, and a visit to some of these locations will ensure you make the most of the incredible outdoors this year.”

The Club has also shared money-saving tips, helping campers to save on pitch fees and travel kit. The Club’s ultimate saving tips include:

  • Book early – confirming your travel dates and booking as far ahead as possible leads to bigger savings on pitch fees. Club members have an 18-month booking window.
  • Make the most of free activities – research campsite facilities and ensure there’s somewhere for kids to play or keep themselves entertained.
  • Rent don’t buy – ask friends and neighbours if they have any camping kit they no longer need or use which you might be able to borrow.
  • Save on fuel – consider staying local to home to save on petrol and diesel.
  • Kick-start the savings with a stay at the Club’s Braithwaite Village lodges. Get 35% off 7-night stays between 1st December 2025 and 28th February 2026, or 15% off any other stay.
