Things to do and see while camping in Ross-on-Wye

Here are five places to visit and areas to explore while camping on one of our campsites near Ross-on-Wye.

1. Ross-on-Wye

The market town of Ross-on-Wye is the perfect place to potter around, exploring the shops and grabbing a drink and bite to eat as you go.

2. Wye Valley

The Wye Valley Walk passes through Ross-on-Wye and offers breathtaking views of the River Wye and surrounding countryside. There are plenty of ways to explore the Wye Valley, much of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The walk up to Symonds Yat Rock provides one of the most popular views of the valley and river below.

3. Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo

For kids and wildlife lovers, the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo is a great attraction to visit on a rainy day. Learn all about the life cycle of a butterfly and see some of the worlds most beautiful species.

4. Goodrich Castle

Visit the medieval Goodrich Castle to learn all about the history of one of the best preserved castles in England. Members of the Club get 25% off English Heritage membership which will get you into Goodrich Castle for free!

5. King Arthur’s Cave

Use an hour or two to explore a series of small caves and surrounding woodland in the King Arthur’s Cave nature reserve. This is a brilliant area for kids to explore in the Doward Hills.
