You may also learn about the history of the area and all about the Mc Donnells and the McQuillans. Also Tea/ coffee shop. Our site is a small site but well appointed, with hook-ups etc. to each pitch .Toilets and shower, washing machine and tumble drier available, also free Wi-Fi. Shrubs and grass well kept. We were very disappointed with this site.

This review is for Charlies Hideaway

We were very disappointed with this site. In a month's touring in Ireland we found very good municipal and privately run sites. So it was sad that the only club one we used, which sounded delightful on the website, was so inferior. Our pitch was marked by a brick with a piece of paper under it with our name. No representative of the absent owner came near us. We were the nearest van to the chemical disposal which stood up in the open field and wafted its odours towards us. The weather was showery, and because the paths and drive were inadequately gravelled, it was very messy. There was a smell of effluent as one walked up the drive past the location of the toilets, and the shower room was filthy. The one redeeming feature was the free provision of a very good washing machine and tumble drier. The site is quite bleak and exposed, but its location is reasonably convenient for the north Antrim coast attractions.

Not really suited for tents Not the best of welcomes-despite stating a large tent, the plot reserved for us would only suit a 2 person festival tent, with no electric. We counted 6 hook ups, 5 of which were already occupied so proceeded to set up on the last free one. Once set up and all equipment brought in the owner decided to visit and told us she was really embarrassed but she had taken a last minute booking from a regular and needed to squeeze him in, so would we mind shifting the tent a few feet? Not easy for an 8 birth tent full to the brim. She told us she had wanted us on the smaller pitch, so we pointed out this had no hook up (despite listing stating hook ups to all pitches), and her response was she didn't think we would need one-so basically we had taken the pitch reserved for her last minute booking despite booking 2 months ago. As a gesture of goodwill she didn't charge us for the hook up, however after an hour of reconfiguring the tent and nearly putting this and our backs out we would much rather have paid it and double. The facilities were extremely dated with only 1 shower with a toilet and 1 separate toilet. It seemed the site was more for caravans then campers. Never again

Has to be one of the best hideaways going! Had originally booked to stay at another Leisure Park nearby but on arrival found it way below our expectations of a campsite so entered nearest campsite in our satnav and found this little gem of a site. Such an amazing welcome by the owner with all facilities you could need on the site. Electric on all the 5 pitches with waste facility. Very quiet in a rural location but perfect for us. Superb two nights.
