Hengistbury Head Hengistbury Head

Located in Bournemouth, Hengistbury Head is predominately a shingle beach with surrounding headland being named as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

There is a café in the area called the Hungry Horse, and a land train offers convenience access to the beach. There is no lifeguard at this beach but the water quality is excellent and you can therefore enjoy a range of water based activities while you are here.

In addition to this you can take advantage of facilities such as toilet facilities and a beach café for snacks and drinks. It is also worth noting that dog are allowed on the beach, making it ideal for those with pets that they wish to bring along.
