From peace and quiet to UKmaxxing: how to holiday in 2027
Monday 19th October 2026

The Camping and Caravanning Club has revealed its holiday predictions for next year, based on the latest travel trends and UK events that will capture the nation’s attention.
The Club has shared its travel recommendations to encourage holidaymakers to think ahead and start planning their UK getaways for 2027.
As AI continues to shape how people research and plan their holidays, there is expected to be a focus on wellness and deeper exploration of the country.
Here are some of the Club’s recommendations on how to embrace the trends and experiences set to shape UK holidays in the coming months.
For peace and quiet
The quietcation - a term coined by LNER - is a travel trend where holidaymakers search out places to stay away from noise and distractions, with a focus on slowing down and reconnecting with nature.
Madeleine Birch, the Club’s PR and Events Manager, said: “A campsite is the ideal place to switch off with a good book, enjoy spending time in nature and reconnecting with what’s most important to us, away from technology.
“We all lead increasingly busy lives and a stay on one of our sites provides complete rest and relaxation.
“We’ve seen lots of attractions embracing this trend such as Kew Gardens which will be hosting forest bathing classes led by guides from the Forest Bathing Institute next year. Combine that with a stay at Chertsey Club Site and you can return from your break revived and ready to return to the day job.”
For lovers of a jam-packed itinerary
At the opposite end of the spectrum to the quietcation, trends such as Euromaxxing, Travelmaxxing and Naturemaxxing have emerged, encouraging us to enhance experiences to the absolute limit.
On a UK break, this involves completing as many experiences and ticking off as many attractions as possible.
Rob Ganley, the Club’s Editor-in-Chief, said: “Campers love camping because it allows them to travel freely and with fewer constraints.
“There are so many great places to visit in the UK from well-known destinations like Stonehenge and the London Eye to our recommended hidden gems including Fairy Glen on the Isle of Skye to wild Welsh waterfalls. Make 2027 the year to explore new places and try new things.”

Sweat-jetting
Increasingly people are travelling further afield to get their adrenaline rush, according to the Trip Advisor 2026 Trendcast.
The sweat-jetting trend is growing in popularity and sees people travel across the UK to take part in fitness challenges such as IRONMAN and ultramarathons.
45,000 people will take part in the Ultra Challenge Series next year, with people of all ages and abilities taking part. The North Yorks Ultra Challenge takes part from 26-27th June and starts in Scarborough. Stay at Scarborough Club Site.
Rethink your next UK adventure
43% of adults chose to holiday in the UK this year[1] and camping is among the best ways to staycation, offering flexibility over itineraries and where to visit.
Adding in different means of travel can make a domestic holiday more exciting - whether that’s building in a stay on an overnight train or considering a short ferry crossing.
Rob Ganley, the Club’s Editor-in-Chief, said: “With a little planning it’s possible to take your camping kit on the Caledonian Sleeper from London and disembark at Perth, taking in sites such as Scone Palace and stay at the Club’s campsite right next door. It’s a trip I’ve fancied doing for some time.”
Members who arrive at a Club Site on foot, by bike or canoe receive a discount of up to 50% off Club Site fees.
For those who want to travel over water, people with caravans and motorhomes can easily get to the Isle of Wight and Scottish Islands including Mull and Skye by ferry. Take a peek at the Club’s best islands to visit for inspiration on how to make the most of an island hop.
Combine camping with culture
Camping places people at the heart of the action in 2027 by staying at a site near to a big event.
For example, next year the UK will make cycling history by hosting the opening stages of the world’s biggest men’s and women’s cycle races. Search and book Club Sites along the route, which commences on 2nd July.
For music lovers, Oasis has announced a concert tour in 2027 with 16 UK dates at venues including Celtic Park and the Etihad. Tie in with stays at Milarrochy Bay and Hayfield Club Sites.
And for culture, The Liverpool Biennial is the UK’s largest free festival of contemporary art, taking place from 5th June -12th September 2027. Delamere Forest Club Site is within easy reach of the city.
London’s V&A Museum will lean into pop culture with its Punk to Pop exhibition which explores the cultural change driven by the punk movement in the 1970s. The Club has several sites within easy of reach of London.
