Camping - ideal activity for 'Generation why not?'
Camping could be the perfect activity for the over-60s after research from Camping in the Forest (CitF) revealed this age group places huge emphasis on socialising, trying new things and being adventurous.
The study, which was supported by former Blue Peter presenter and CitF brand ambassador Janet Ellis, revealed that over-60s are making the most of their later years with 40 per cent claiming that regular socialising keeps them healthy and active. Also, 16 per cent list going on holiday as their top priority for the next ten years.
However, one area where ‘Generation Why Not?’ falls down is not getting enough exercise, with 61 per cent admitting they should do more and 13 per cent saying they don’t exercise at all. But camping could be the perfect way to improve those numbers according to Janet. She said: “It’s great to see ‘Generation Why Not?’ dispelling typical stereotypes. However, it’s important that we remember to get outdoors in the fresh air, keep fit and active, while keeping our minds and souls happy too.”
