North West Region promising ‘firsts’ at NFOL
Bookings have started coming in for this year’s National Feast of Lanterns (NFOL).
The meet will feature a real ale festival, live music, free entertainment for families and the traditional Mardis Gras parade and Lighting Up evening and will take place at Arley Hall in Cheshire from 23 to 27 August, making it the last NFOL to be a five-day event over the August Bank Holiday weekend for the foreseeable future.
NFOL 2018 Chairman Tracey French said: “We are planning to have a few firsts at the meet. The North West Region is a Region of many firsts, including being the first Region to bring in the newly formed Club band in 1994, the first to host a pennon parade and the first to host a ‘green’ NFOL at Tabley Showground in 2006, where nearly everything was recycled. Watch this space for some new firsts at NFOL 2018.”
The North West Region and NFOL 2018 Working Party will be visiting and camping at the Arley Hall site from 23 to 25 March to ensure preparations and planning are running smoothly.
