Unlike its Bermuda cousin, Birmingham’s balti triangle is very much on the map. It’s an area south of the city covering Sparkhill, Balsall Heath and Moseley that has more than 50 balti restaurants – and it’s been at the heart of serving this home-grown dish since the 1970s. Visiting ‘the triangle’ was even included in the Rough Guides' Top 25 Travel Experiences in Britain. So what is special about the balti? And what is the connection to Birmingham?
