Couple win Club’s star prize
A Hertfordshire couple were over the moon at winning a caravan and car in an exclusive Club competition.
Laurence Lomasney and Suzanne Smith, from Hitchin, have won a Hyundai Tucson 1.7CRDi and a Sprite Freedom 6, worth a combined £35,000.
Laurence, 46, said: “You have no idea what this means to us. We were talking about all the things that the prize is going to give us and the more we talk about it the more and more we realise the horizons are opening up for us.”
The couple plan to use the car and caravan with children Tom, seven, and Emma, aged six. They’ve already made plans to travel with it to the Isle of Skye and to visit family in Somerset.
The competition was run throughout 2016 in partnership with Hyundai and Swift to highlight the Club’s ‘No B+E licence? No Problem!’ campaign, which sought to remind people without the B+E category on their driving licence, that there are plenty of caravan and car combinations they can still tow.
Laurence added: “It’s going to be an incredible life changer, not just for us, not just for the family but for the kids and the future. The kids are both outdoor children and it’s going to give us the ability to almost up sticks and go where we want and have that quality of time with them - we have the opportunity now to make memories of a lifetime for them.”
