March success for motorhome sales
The UK motorhome market is thriving, according to figures released today by industry body the NCC.
In total 2,352 new motorhomes were sold in March 2016, a 20.4 per cent increase on the same month last year.
While March is traditionally a peak month for sales as campers prepare for the new holiday season, sales figures for the first three months of 2016 were also strong, showing 19.5 per cent growth compared to the same period in 2015.
According to the National Caravan Council (NCC), increasing numbers of buyers are new to motorhoming, being drawn to the sector by attractive and innovative products and by the industry’s Freedom to Go campaign, which is also backed by the Club.
NCC Director General John Lally said: “Whether it’s a last minute weekend away, supporting an outdoor activity like mountain biking, or indeed the longer annual summer holiday, motorhomes make it all possible.”
