Go electric on Isle of Wight
A fleet of small electric Renault cars has been launched on the island as a means for tourists to explore.
Fifteen two-seater Renault Twizys are available for hire from £49 per day. Campers at Adgestone Club Site will find there are at least two charging locations close to the site, out of the dozen or so island-wide. A full charge provides the cars with a range of about 50 miles.
The Twizys can be hired from Hire a Twizy: Isle of Wight at its base next to the Red Jet high-speed ferry terminal in Cowes. More pick-up and drop-off locations may be added at a later date.
Those borrowing the cars need to be at least 21 years of age and present their driving licence.
The Twizys are also available to hire in the New Forest, handy for campers using the Club's ten Camping in the Forest Sites or Verwood Club Site situated just seven miles from the New Forest.
