Visit any campsite that welcomes caravans and motorhomes and it’s pretty certain you’ll see an awning attached to at least one of them. These fabric structures don’t tend to get much media coverage but they are a great way to increase the usable space on your pitch. Looking for a bit of dry space to leave your muddy boots? Then you may want to consider a basic porch awning. Need lots of extra room and bedrooms for the teenagers? A full-size awning with a couple of annexes and inner tents could more than double your usable floor space.
