Overview
Brockalee is a family run Certificated Site midway between Newcastle and Carlisle, just south of the Roman Wall. The site is level with good access; we have horses, ponies, donkeys, goats and various breeds of sheep and a cattery. The site is a short walk to a large play park, a village shop, tea room, pub, restaurant, pottery museum, riding stables and local attractions: Hadrian’s Wall, Sill, Vindolanda and Housteads forts and museums with live excavations, as well as Allen Banks. We are on the Coast to Coast cycle route and in the middle of a network of fantastic signed footpaths and the local bus and train service give direct access to Newcastle and Carlisle and the Roman Wall (the bus stop is 150mtrs and the train station is 600mtrs away). Within a short drive are 3 heated open air swimming pools, Kielder Forest and reservoir, Alnwick Castle and Beamish Museum. National Trusts Wallington Hall, Gibside and Cragside House with falconry days with birds of prey and a visitor centre. Other attractions include Kirkhale Lancelot, Capability Browns Lake and Courtyard and Hexham Abbey.
Please contact the campsite directly if you have any questions about opening dates, facilities or additional measures at this campsite.
This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
