    Best for

History fans, culture vultures, shopaholics, tranquillity seekers, families

Explore the ancient streets of York by day and relax on a quiet, countryside pitch at night at Sheriff Hutton Club Site. Located north of historic York, this green and secluded campsite is a great launchpad to help you visit iconic attractions such as York Minster and the National Railway Museum.

    Streets of history

With both grass and hardstanding pitches, modern toilet block, laundry facilities, and a small children’s play area, Sheriff Hutton offers convenient and serene surroundings for your camping holiday. From here, you can either catch a bus or use Rawcliffe Park and Ride (2.1m height barrier) to get into York city centre and start exploring ancient, cobbled streets like the Shambles, or visiting amazing museums such as Jorvik Viking Centre.

    Castles to coast

For families, attractions such as Flamingo Land at Malton or Monk Farm near Thirsk are bound to keep campers of all ages entertained. A fine morning or afternoon out also awaits at nearby Castle Howard – an ornate, 18th Century stately home and gardens. If you tire of days out in the city, then a one-hour drive to the east will bring you to quaint coastal destinations such as Bridlington and Hunmanby Gap.

Don’t miss your chance to camp in comfort on the doorstep of historic York by booking a pitch at Sheriff Hutton today.
