Our Club Site on the beautiful Isle of Skye

Head to Loch Greshornish on the beautiful Isle of Skye and you’ll find our Skye Club campsite. It boasts an idyllic location right on the loch shore where campers enjoy stunning views over the water to the hills beyond.

The campsite is on a working croft. Magnificent Highland cattle and sheep graze close by and you can buy fresh laid duck and hen eggs at the site shop along with most essentials. There are hardstandings for caravanners and motorhomers with plenty of these pitches enjoying the views. You can go glamping at Skye campsite too. Two camping pods provide cosy accommodation for those who perhaps fancy leaving their own units at home.

A visit to Dunvegan Castle on the Isle’s west coast is a must. It sits on a rocky outcrop betwixt sea and manicured gardens. Seal spotting boat trips operate from the castle jetty. Not far from the castle Caligan Coral beach is a fantastic place to spend the day. Portree is the main town on Skye, set round a harbour you’ll find the Aros Centre. As well as theatre, films and concerts it’s here you’ll find out more about the Isle through a series of exhibitions.

To catch a glimpse of the sea eagles catch a boat from the harbour.

We stopped for 2 night on the way to Harris, the facilities and the pitch were ideal.

We stopped for 2 night on the way to Harris, the facilities and the pitch were ideal. There is a wifi connection via a Cottish Highland site that is variable and no tv or phone signal. The nearby shopping and petrol at Portree fulfilled our needs and it was only a 30 minute drive from the ferry port of Uig. Consequently we stopped over on the way home.

This is a remote location and has the feel of a moorland loch rather than coastal sea loch.

This is a remote location and has the feel of a moorland loch rather than coastal sea loch. The facilities are first class and the pitches of adequate size. We were there for 5 nights which seemed longer than the turnover of a couple of nights that we observed. The weather for the location was very changeable and we did experience sunshine and showers which to be honest we did expect so it was not a problem. All in all a good passage. Do be aware there is no tv or mobile signal at the site that we could experience ... however driving away from site towards Portree there is a 4G signal at the river Snizort bridge along with a very useful Parking Lay-by

SKYE IS STEEPED IN HISTORY that s still present to day, kept alive by the islanders, the weather was fantastic 7 days of blue sky and heat , this must be the best holiday we have had in the last 5 years every where else we went either was windy with rain or cold and over cast yes we have had a few days of sunshine over 7 days but nothing like the glorious weather we had in Skye. even the sea was blue just like the Med and the site was how i would like every site to be quiet and peaceful the cleanly is to the normal high standard of the club sites,

Had a brilliant 2 nights at Edinbane campsite.

This review is for Skye

Had a brilliant 2 nights at Edinbane campsite. We stayed in a pod (2 adults, 2 kids and a dog!). It was a squeeze but we did all fit! Pods have a carpet and double electric sockets. Beautiful views, quiet (except for our kids!) and exceptionally clean. Great facilities and friendly staff. A wee fire in the bbq helped to keep the midges at bay but don't forget your Smidge (other midge repellents are available!). Highly recommend a visit.
