More Details
A beautifully kept site in a tranquil location with stunning views over the bay and across the Bristol Channel to South Wales. An excellent centre for us to enjoy the wildlife, the moorland and the picturesque villages. - Mr and Mrs Rose
Minehead town is a mile-and-a-half down
the hill. It is Somerset’s largest seaside
resort, with a good shopping centre, many
places for eating out, a harbour and a long
sandy beach.
The West Somerset Steam Railway station is
in the town. The line goes through 20 miles
of stunning coastal and countryside scenery.
Dunster is a pretty medieval town. The
Castle dates back to 1086 and is now
managed by the National Trust.
Exmoor National Park has a Visitor Centre at
Dunster. It is a good place to begin exploring
the moor on foot.
Tropiquaria Animal and Adventure Park
includes The Radio Museum and
Shadowstring Puppet Theatre.
Porlock Weir is accessible along the coast
path. It has a harbour beneath wooded
cliffs. Culbone – the country’s smallest
church – is here.
Porlock village is famous for its steep hill.
In the past, horses would pull cars up it.
Butlin’s Somerwest World makes a good
day out with children.
South from Minehead is Wimbleball Lake
with fine views and lovely walks across
Haddon Valley. Anglers have been known to
catch rainbow trout.
Motorhome owners should note the
directions to Site on this page. Most satellite
navigation systems direct their users along
unsuitable routes.
Eat Local
Gerald David and Family Ltd sells local meat. Minehead’s Farmers’ Market is held monthly.
Worth Noting
Although access to the site from Minehead town centre is very steep and twisting, we do not advise any other route as the alternative lane is too narrow. If using Satellite Navigation please follow map directions ONLY.
Childrens Information
Some pitches are sloping and chocks will be required.
