Gentle walks and cycle rides are top of the to do list from our Wolverley Club campsite.

Surrounded by the stunning Worcestershire countryside and with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just 60 metres from site means you really can enjoy life in the slow lane.

The Lock Inn adjacent to the canal and a couple of minutes’ walk from the campsite provides an excellent resting place to enjoy a pint (or frozen cider) and partake in a spot of gongoozling. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed along the canal towpath especially as there is Springfields country park near the canal were fishing is available and a great play park for the children. Stop off in Kidderminster and, as well as shops and eateries, you’ll find the Severn Valley Railway. Board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile journey through glorious countryside to Bridgnorth.

There are numerous opportunities for family days out from the campsite. Explore 1,000 years of history at Hartlebury Museum near Kidderminster. Bodenham Aboretum and Earth Centre , Wolverley and Arley Aboretum, Arley village are wonderlands of trees and shrubs and for animal lovers the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, Dudley Zoo and Rays Farm are not to be missed.

Back at camp, there’ still more to do. There’s a playing field for youngsters to let off steam adjacent to the campsite and a large recreation room with table tennis and a pool table keep children occupied in bad weather. There’s an excellent dog walk and a good range of facilities including showers, laundry and site shop.

We found the site to be clean and well laid out.

We found the site to be clean and well laid out. The staff were very helpful and provided us with a lot of useful info when we arrived. The site has a large field next to it which is great for dogs, even the locals exercise their dogs on this field. You can walk to Kidderminster along the nearby tow path within 30 minutes. The local pub was very welcoming and allows dogs in the bar area. The pub is next to the canal and only a very short walk from the site. The pub also does reasonable pub food which we found not to expensive. The facilities at the site looked modern and were kept spotlessly clean. We will certainly use this site again

We liked this site and it was fascinating to discover information about the history of the land occupied by the site. Whilst it is a sloping site all the pitches seem reasonably level. The facility block ( part of the history) is modern on the inside with good quality facilities. If I had three wishes on how to improve this site they would be 1) Better quality WiFi which I found quite poor. 2) Given the quality of the local TV signal it would be nice to have booster system on site and 3) Some simple work to convert the rather awkward Motorhome waste drain to a free draining one.

Very handy for the canal loved the towpath walk to Cookley village, the tesco express there was useful for supplies, took about 45 minutes to walk there but worth it. The Queens Head in Wolverley Village serve very nice food at a reasonable cost. Had a very enjoyable stay.
