Gentle walks and cycle rides are top of the to do list from our Wolverley Club campsite.

Surrounded by the stunning Worcestershire countryside and with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just 60 metres from site means you really can enjoy life in the slow lane.

The Lock Inn adjacent to the canal and a couple of minutes’ walk from the campsite provides an excellent resting place to enjoy a pint (or frozen cider) and partake in a spot of gongoozling. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed along the canal towpath especially as there is Springfields country park near the canal were fishing is available and a great play park for the children. Stop off in Kidderminster and, as well as shops and eateries, you’ll find the Severn Valley Railway. Board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile journey through glorious countryside to Bridgnorth.

There are numerous opportunities for family days out from the campsite. Explore 1,000 years of history at Hartlebury Museum near Kidderminster. Bodenham Aboretum and Earth Centre , Wolverley and Arley Aboretum, Arley village are wonderlands of trees and shrubs and for animal lovers the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, Dudley Zoo and Rays Farm are not to be missed.

Back at camp, there’ still more to do. There’s a playing field for youngsters to let off steam adjacent to the campsite and a large recreation room with table tennis and a pool table keep children occupied in bad weather. There’s an excellent dog walk and a good range of facilities including showers, laundry and site shop.

Due to works on hardstanding pitches from 4 April for approximately 3 weeks there may be some daytime noise produced by heavy plant and machinery. We will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum.

Stayed 4 nights in motorhome; washrooms very clean at all times, plenty of toilets & showers. We walked to Kidderminster along canal towpath - about 50 minutes easy flat walking. Large Sainsbury store immediately next to towpath as arriving at K'minster. Also took the Severn Valley (steam) train to Bridgnorth - about 20 pp senior day ticket (get on/off as much as you like - 1 hour to B'north). Steam railway station is right next to K'minster mainline station. 2 pubs with good pub grub close to the site, fish & chip van comes to site Fri evening around 6-7pm. Bus goes to K'minster 1 per hour from primary school about 400 yds from site - about 20 min ride. The B4189 runs alongside the site - surprisingly busy & noisy for a 'B' road - you may want to have a pitch away from the road if in a tent. Take care if trying to cross this road on foot outside the site - views are restricted & cars come quickly. The older part of the village around the church has some lovely old cottages, & makes an easy short circular walk from site. Thoroughly enjoyed staying at this site & would certainly stay here again.

Having purchased a HiGear AirGo Cirrus6 tent last autumn we needed a place to pitch it and check it over. Wolverley let us do this for a contribution to their flower fund. Having decided we needed to do a live camp prior to a month in France, we booked two nights during the first week in May to identify pros, cons and methods to get the best out of our new tent. On arrival we were welcomed and guided to a quiet pitch that proved to be superb. We pitched quite quickly but then used the time to fine tune the guying and internal arrangements. Having spent more time camping in France than in Blighty, where their toilet and washing facilities usually range from good to very good. Wolverley's facilities are probably the cleanest we have ever encountered. Soap dispensers, hair driers, plugs in sinks and well thought out shower cubicles. Absolutely first class! I know these things may seem small, and experienced campers will come prepared to overcome. However not having to second guess what is and what is not provided was a first for us. What is more, the whole site is a credit to the staff who make it happen, thank you. Steve and Kim Tibbetts

We recently had an enjoyable four nights stay at the CCC Wolverley site in Worcestershire. On our arrival the large site looked neat and tidy in the sunshine which cheered us up straight away. We received a really friendly welcome and were showed to our pitch. The pitches were well arranged with plenty of room between them. The facilities were really clean and toilets and showers in tip top condition, the washing up room had ample bins and was also spotless. There was plenty of information about local attractions and an extremely attractive and informative display about the history of the site from war-time American military hospital to the current campsite. We particularly enjoyed the nearby canal and walked along the tow-path to Cookly. Next time we hope to walk the other way to Kidderminster. Wolverley is one of the best sites we have visited, thanks to Frank and Roma for a first class job.

Phoned Wolverley site to ask if we could come early after two sleepless nights at nearby site.

Phoned Wolverley site to ask if we could come early after two sleepless nights at nearby site. "Sounds like hell. Come straight over and we'll find something for you." And they did. The 'friendly club' in action with super helpful staff despite being the end of a very busy week-end! Perfect pitch with new hardstanding, two friendly and interesting pubs nearby, a canal lock with tea-room and towpath, yet site has quiet and rural feel. Immaculate toilet block. We had been to a Bewdley site as we believed it was best for the Severn Valley Steam Railway but in fact Wolverley is just as good with option of hourly bus into Kidderminster or relaxed walk along the canal towpath. Very highly recommended. Staff deserve an award!! We will be back.
