Overview

Great site for exploring the pretty Cotswolds towns and their attractions.

Amid the honey-coloured villages of the Cotswolds is where you’ll find the Club’s charming Chipping Norton campsite. Tucked away off the beaten track, this campsite offers a mix of level and sloping pitches, surrounded by trees and dry stone walls.

If it’s peace and tranquillity you are after, this site delivers in spades. But it would a shame not to venture off site and explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. Hop in your car or catch the bus right outside the site and discover the charms of Chipping Norton itself, Chadlington, Charbury and Witney for starters.

No stay at Chipping Norton campsite should be without a visit to Stow on the Wold, Bourton-on-the- Water and Batsford. As well as brimming with charm, they boast an eclectic mix of family attractions including Birdland and a model village in Bourton. Batsford Arboretum and Hidcote Manor are also worth visiting.

Worth Noting

Most pitches are sloping so chocks will be required. The site has full recycling facilities.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

There is a Farmers’ Market on the third Saturday of the month in Chipping Norton. Several farm shops in the area sell locally grown fruit and vegetables.

Stayed here for two nights, Wardens were very welcoming. Facilities clean, although as a previous reviewer has said, at 6ft 6, the showers were set a too low. CDP Clean and nice to see a sink and soap. Would definately recommend this site.

Stayed for two nights, this is a lovely, well maintained site.

Stayed for two nights, this is a lovely, well maintained site. we used a hardstanding pitch which was a good size and level. TV, mobile signals etc were all fine. Facilities were always clean and there were nice extras like sink & soap in the chemical disposal point. The only negative was the shower heads being at chin level (I'm 6'2" so hardly a giant). Recommended, we will use it again (despite the showers).

We belong to the Club's Mountain Activity Section which had booked a meet at The cricket club in Moreton in the Marsh. We were stewards and arrived to arrange signs etc to discover heavy overnight rain had left the field waterlogged. Then began the process of trying to contact members, many of whom would actually have set off. Several of those whom we had failed to contact decided to find alternative camping accommodation in the area. Three of us decided to try the Club's Chipping Norton site. We were allocated the last hard standing for our motorhome! The site managers were extremely welcoming and, after the nightmare of the previous few hours, were finally able to relax. A big thank you to the staff.
