Overview

Great site for exploring the pretty Cotswolds towns and their attractions.

Amid the honey-coloured villages of the Cotswolds is where you’ll find the Club’s charming Chipping Norton campsite. Tucked away off the beaten track, this campsite offers a mix of level and sloping pitches, surrounded by trees and dry stone walls.

If it’s peace and tranquillity you are after, this site delivers in spades. But it would a shame not to venture off site and explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. Hop in your car or catch the bus right outside the site and discover the charms of Chipping Norton itself, Chadlington, Charbury and Witney for starters.

No stay at Chipping Norton campsite should be without a visit to Stow on the Wold, Bourton-on-the- Water and Batsford. As well as brimming with charm, they boast an eclectic mix of family attractions including Birdland and a model village in Bourton. Batsford Arboretum and Hidcote Manor are also worth visiting.

Worth Noting

Most pitches are sloping so chocks will be required. The site has full recycling facilities.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

There is a Farmers’ Market on the third Saturday of the month in Chipping Norton. Several farm shops in the area sell locally grown fruit and vegetables.

Site is located just outside Chipping Norton.

This review is for Chipping Norton

Site is located just outside Chipping Norton. Ideally situated for touring Cotswolds and Thames valley. The best field seems to be the non electric hook up field as well away from noisy main road. Very clean facilities, would appear to only be one chemical disposal point which can be a long way to carry waste. I would definitely stay again but well away from road.

No complaints at all about this site - very friendly staff.

No complaints at all about this site - very friendly staff. The only comment is perhaps need to reinforce availability of dog area to all incomers as one unsociable camper allowed her dog to perform between us and a caravan full of young children. Can highly recommend visit to local NT Chastleton House and Garden

We have just returned from a very happy first stay at this site.

This review is for Chipping Norton

We have just returned from a very happy first stay at this site. From our arrival the staff were particularly helpful, offering us a walk around the site to pick out our favourite pitch and delicately asking whether we had any problems with getting the caravan into the pitch (I didn't mention I had an artic licence!) and then politely left us to get sorted out as we wished. It couldn't have been more sensitively done. The toilet block and disabled facilities were spotlessly clean and more than adequate, and we appreciated the staff walking around the site to check on everything regularly. The surroundings are well worth visiting - Bourton on the Water is charming, as is Stowe on the Wold. Chipping Norton itself is worth a walk around, we went on Wednesday which was market day. The church is very attractive - first time I had seen a "squint", and I liked the tomb with a dog as well. There is a very good laminated guide to borrow on the book table. The Crown and Cushion hotel offers free WiFi and very reasonable food for lunchtime. We shall look forward to staying at this site again before too long. David and Christine

This is a lovely well kept site with managers who obviously took a lot of pride in looking after it. The welcome was warm and friendly and there was plenty of room between the pitches. Chipping Norton and surrounding areas were very pleasant. My only moan would be that the shower heads are very low and it is easy to knock your own head but that could be down to water pressure reasons. They were very clean though. Really enjoyed our stay here and will defiantly return. Well done and thanks to the managers in looking after one of the nicest sites we have stayed at. Simon & Carol
