Gentle walks and cycle rides are top of the to do list from our Wolverley Club campsite.

Surrounded by the stunning Worcestershire countryside and with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just 60 metres from site means you really can enjoy life in the slow lane.

The Lock Inn adjacent to the canal and a couple of minutes’ walk from the campsite provides an excellent resting place to enjoy a pint (or frozen cider) and partake in a spot of gongoozling. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed along the canal towpath especially as there is Springfields country park near the canal were fishing is available and a great play park for the children. Stop off in Kidderminster and, as well as shops and eateries, you’ll find the Severn Valley Railway. Board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile journey through glorious countryside to Bridgnorth.

There are numerous opportunities for family days out from the campsite. Explore 1,000 years of history at Hartlebury Museum near Kidderminster. Bodenham Aboretum and Earth Centre , Wolverley and Arley Aboretum, Arley village are wonderlands of trees and shrubs and for animal lovers the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, Dudley Zoo and Rays Farm are not to be missed.

Back at camp, there’ still more to do. There’s a playing field for youngsters to let off steam adjacent to the campsite and a large recreation room with table tennis and a pool table keep children occupied in bad weather. There’s an excellent dog walk and a good range of facilities including showers, laundry and site shop.

Arrived after 7pm but the site manager could not have been more helpful.

Arrived after 7pm but the site manager could not have been more helpful. Great pitch, clean and warm loo & shower facilities, and when we realised that we had forgotten to bring pasta with us for our dinner, the site manager and his wife kindly gave us some of theirs! Excellent service, very friendly and welcoming. Will stay again when up in that part of the world. Thank you.

Very helpful staff, I had a mishap with jockey wheel just before hitting Kidderminster. One of the staff took time out from his lunch break to ensure jockey wheel was ok to pitch. Facilities lovely, clean and spacious. Pitched down hill, (the site is tiered) my partner struggled to get to showers easily. Access road good, site road narrow, pitches on the smaller side, so much so I took up the road while hooking van up. Pub not far, good beer, good food, slightly scruffy though. Beware of Scion hill on the journey in, though I drove my van up ok, it's a 10% gradient, to avoid carry on down the road to turn onto the B road. Scenery lovely looking towards Wolverly. All in all not a bad site, would have been ok a few years ago when we were fitter.

We found the site suited us well as we have a young dog who likes good walks of an hour or more twice a day. We walked by the canal in each direction and we had a trip to Kinver Edge which is very near and has great scope for walking in woodland. We had a meal at the Old Village Store which we would thoroughly recommend. The main drawback was the difficulty of getting our daily newspaper. The site itself is very pleasant if you are not too close to the main road. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

This must be the cleanest site we have ever been on the toilet and showers were spotless .The site wardens were friendly and made us very welcome.Due to the prolonged hot weather the ground was extremely hard so took some advise and bought some heavy duty pegs they went in the ground no problem.Cant wait till next season for a return visit.
