Gentle walks and cycle rides are top of the to do list from our Wolverley Club campsite.

Surrounded by the stunning Worcestershire countryside and with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just 60 metres from site means you really can enjoy life in the slow lane.

The Lock Inn adjacent to the canal and a couple of minutes’ walk from the campsite provides an excellent resting place to enjoy a pint (or frozen cider) and partake in a spot of gongoozling. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed along the canal towpath especially as there is Springfields country park near the canal were fishing is available and a great play park for the children. Stop off in Kidderminster and, as well as shops and eateries, you’ll find the Severn Valley Railway. Board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile journey through glorious countryside to Bridgnorth.

There are numerous opportunities for family days out from the campsite. Explore 1,000 years of history at Hartlebury Museum near Kidderminster. Bodenham Aboretum and Earth Centre , Wolverley and Arley Aboretum, Arley village are wonderlands of trees and shrubs and for animal lovers the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, Dudley Zoo and Rays Farm are not to be missed.

Back at camp, there’ still more to do. There’s a playing field for youngsters to let off steam adjacent to the campsite and a large recreation room with table tennis and a pool table keep children occupied in bad weather. There’s an excellent dog walk and a good range of facilities including showers, laundry and site shop.

We stayed at Wolverley for two nights on our way to Scotland, the staff were friendly and very welcoming. The facilities were up to date and spotless! This is a lovely site very spacious and a good choice of grass and hardstanding pitches, I prefer grass and our pitch was great lots of room to spread out, the only problem being we were down by the road which is very noisy especially early morning and no TV signal because of the trees, however there is a nice pub 5mins away which is on the canal and serves good food, you can also walk into the village which has another pub and cafe and very pretty. I would certainly revisit but maybe not down by the road!

For me, this site is perfect apart from one thing, the traffic noise, if you are within 100m of the road the traffic noise is constant, we were right next to the road which made it unbearable, we even bought earplugs. The site itself is lovely, it is obvious that a lot of care is taken and the flowers look beautiful. The wardens are excellent, very friendly and welcoming and the facilities are spotless. There is a field next to the site where you can exercise your dog and a good pub 5 minutes walk away right on the canal. We walked into Kidderminster along the towpath for shopping, a lovely walk which takes about 40 minutes. I took my kayak and had a lovely paddle early one morning, as I say, almost perfect. If I was guaranteed a pitch away from the road I would happily visit again, otherwise I'm afraid not.

This review is for Wolverley

We stayed on this site for 3 nights on our way back north after holidaying in Devon. It is a large, open site with spacious pitches. All the facilities were clean and well cared for and the site benefited from the addition of some impressive and well cared for flower tubs and pots. A large playing field opposite the site entrance provide an ideal dog walking for our small dog. We particularly liked the location of the Lock pub within a 5 minute walk of our caravan. The pub faces the canal and has an outside seating area that is perfect for watching canal activity. Although the pub faces the canal it is sideways on to a fairly busy road. The pub serves food and is dog friendly. A 10 minute walk takes you into the pretty village of Wolverley with its own equally pretty pub the Queens Head. While staying here we enjoyed walks along the canal, one way to Kidderminster, about an hour away at a slow pace, and a shorter walk to the next village of Cookley in the other direction. This is a pleasant and peaceful site and we enjoyed our time here and would have been happy to stay longer.

2 nights in a tent with young family.

This review is for Wolverley

2 nights in a tent with young family. Cannot deny the staff were great, the toilets / showers were immaculate & of fantastic standard but it is SO EXPENSIVE to stay here!!!!!! Never paid so much to camp!!! And I honestly cant say it was worth 45 per night!! It was great - but not that great! The tent area is in a corner very close to the extremely noisy main road - so little sleep. It's also the farthest point away from the toilet block. As tents have no toilets (caravans do) & caravans have a little more noise insulation at night, you'd think the sensible place to put the tents would be away from the road & near the toilet block - suggestion for improvement!!!!! So - ask for a pitch away from the road. Lovely walk into Wolverley village to the cafe - recommended.
