Overview

Quiet peaceful site alongside the River Sett. Easy walking distance to Hayfield and New Mills along the Sett valley trail (old railway line). At New Mills walk through the Torrs (Park under the Town) see old mills and cross the Millenium Walkway. Town also boasts good transport links. Two train stations serving Buxton, Manchester, Sheffield also bus links to Glossop, Buxton etc. It also has a good leisure centre and many local shops and cafes. There are many good local pubs serving excellent food and drink close to the site. Also close by is Lyme Park and Hall, associated with TVs Pride and Prejudice. Many other famous properties are nearby including Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Hayfield is the village in TVs series The Village and gives access to Kinder Scout via the path taken by the Mass Trespass. The spa town of Buxton has a beautifully restored Opera House.

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
