Overview

Great site for exploring the pretty Cotswolds towns and their attractions.

Amid the honey-coloured villages of the Cotswolds is where you’ll find the Club’s charming Chipping Norton campsite. Tucked away off the beaten track, this campsite offers a mix of level and sloping pitches, surrounded by trees and dry stone walls.

If it’s peace and tranquillity you are after, this site delivers in spades. But it would a shame not to venture off site and explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. Hop in your car or catch the bus right outside the site and discover the charms of Chipping Norton itself, Chadlington, Charbury and Witney for starters.

No stay at Chipping Norton campsite should be without a visit to Stow on the Wold, Bourton-on-the- Water and Batsford. As well as brimming with charm, they boast an eclectic mix of family attractions including Birdland and a model village in Bourton. Batsford Arboretum and Hidcote Manor are also worth visiting.

Worth Noting

Most pitches are sloping so chocks will be required. The site has full recycling facilities.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

There is a Farmers’ Market on the third Saturday of the month in Chipping Norton. Several farm shops in the area sell locally grown fruit and vegetables.

A beautifully placed site, close to lovely Chipping Norton (an easy 2.10 return bus journey) We were delighted to find newly laid hardstandings available. Its expensive considering the old fashioned facilities block, not what I'd expect for this price-please update CC&C!! The washing up facility is semi-outdoors and I think all facilities would struggle if the site was full.Good short dog walk but excellent bridlepath nearby for longer dog walks off lead. Friendly wardens and a delightful site to experience. Nice site but needs some more money spent on it to justify this top price.

We visited this sight towards the end of the season but all of the facilities, while getting "long in the tooth" were in pristine condition and spotlessly clean. The site itself was also in excellent condition considering the weather and time of year with plenty of room allocated to each pitch and a good sized childrens play area. For dog owners the dog walk is very good and with woods and bridle paths just a stones throw from the back gate there is no lack of excercise potential. With Chipping Norton not far down the road (only approx 100m which is not footpath) everything is in easy reach (buses stop at the gate on a regulare basis) including the beautifully restored Tite Inn 1 1/2 miles away which serves excellent food and beers and has a fantastic tiered garden for those warm summer evenings. We will definitely return.

We stayed at the site for two nights at the start of our two week break in the Cotswolds. Having been impressed with the site first time we decided to end our holiday at the same site for three nights. There was a bus stop outside the site into Chipping Norton and Witney where buses linked up to Oxford, Banbury and Blenheim Palace. Although the site is a little dated like many other sites it was kept exceptionally clean and tidy by the duty wardens.
