Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
Whilst the majority of Certificated Sites do permit children, please be aware that this site has chosen to be Adults Only.

Poplars Farm benefits from panoramic views over the rolling Derbyshire Dales from every pitch. We are close to Carsington Water and Derbyshire has something for every visitor, whether interested in history, walking, shopping, pubs and dining or just relaxing. In addition to the 5 hard standing pitches for caravans and motor homes, there is hard standing with ehu available for folding campers and trailer tents or members may prefer a grass pitch with or without ehu. There is a dog walking area appreciated by our furry friends around the ten acre site. The fields have numerous meadow flowers in Spring and there are pigs, chickens and ducks on the farm, as well as a wealth of wildlife. Beautiful sunsets on many evenings - enjoy them with a glass of wine or a pot of tea!

Brilliant site. Everything you need for staying in the great outdoors.

Brilliant site. Everything you need for staying in the great outdoors. Owners very friendly and on hand for help/advice if needed. You get a 'handout' with advice of near and not so near places to visit. Only .5 miles from the village of Hulland Ward. Yes there are no paths but it wasn't a problem. Great views and great walks. Facilities are good and well stocked. One of the only sites where we haven't had to use levelling ramps :) Will definitely be returning in the near future

We didn't think the toilets and showers were up to scratch, as other reviews said they were very good. Men and women could use either .block The site itself was nice especially the views, and quite near to different places, but very busy road ,not very good for walking as no footpaths, but was very disappointed with toilets and showers , could do with good clean ,and sharing two portacabins , which could be one for men one for women , not mixed,

Wonderful views from every pitch.

This review is for Poplars Farm

Wonderful views from every pitch. Our first trip out this year and we couldn't have picked more helpful host's Sara and Peter helped out when we thought we would have to return home early when the charger packed in and the only charge going into the battery was via the solar panel not much chance of that on a cloudy day. Sara rung round and found a place in Matlock so we had a day out in Matlock to pick it up that's enough of my misfortune. The site is well laid out to give every pitch a view over the countryside, the amenities are a bit basic but are useable just read the signs. The first pub in the village (the Black Horse) is very never got chance to try any food but the menu looked full. Some EHUs have been increased to 16amp.
