Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
Whilst the majority of Certificated Sites do permit children, please be aware that this site has chosen to be Adults Only.

Poplars Farm benefits from panoramic views over the rolling Derbyshire Dales from every pitch. We are close to Carsington Water and Derbyshire has something for every visitor, whether interested in history, walking, shopping, pubs and dining or just relaxing. In addition to the 5 hard standing pitches for caravans and motor homes, there is hard standing with ehu available for folding campers and trailer tents or members may prefer a grass pitch with or without ehu. There is a dog walking area appreciated by our furry friends around the ten acre site. The fields have numerous meadow flowers in Spring and there are pigs, chickens and ducks on the farm, as well as a wealth of wildlife. Beautiful sunsets on many evenings - enjoy them with a glass of wine or a pot of tea!

Wonderful views from every pitch.

Wonderful views from every pitch. Our first trip out this year and we couldn't have picked more helpful host's Sara and Peter helped out when we thought we would have to return home early when the charger packed in and the only charge going into the battery was via the solar panel not much chance of that on a cloudy day. Sara rung round and found a place in Matlock so we had a day out in Matlock to pick it up that's enough of my misfortune. The site is well laid out to give every pitch a view over the countryside, the amenities are a bit basic but are useable just read the signs. The first pub in the village (the Black Horse) is very never got chance to try any food but the menu looked full. Some EHUs have been increased to 16amp.

Lazy days walking. Well as stated WOW !!! Great site fantastic hosts. We only live 12 miles away and love the place. Lovely pitches on hard standing, toilets, showers, washing room, dryer etc all in very clean condition. Local area great for walks, and Carsington Res a few miles away. Close to Belper, and Ashbourne, so spoilt for which place to explore first. Great base to explore this part of Derbyshire. We will be going back over the winter months.

A gem of a site: We spent 7 nights here - together with our 3 dogs.

A gem of a site: We spent 7 nights here - together with our 3 dogs. Sara and Peter could not have been more helpful. The site is situated in a spot with beautiful views all around. The showers and toilets were spotless and free, which is something that some sites charge for or even limit the hours to be used. The dog walking area (all important to us) had been mowed to form a path all around the field. A nice touch, thank you Peter. We didn't use any of the local pubs, so can't comment on those. But on our next visit we definately will ! Added bonus for me - the 3 pigs that were there. All together a site that you would want to return to, it has everything - beautiful views, clean facilities and friendly owners
