Enjoy walking, cycling, Go Ape and concerts from our forest-based site nr Chester.

Cheshire’s largest area of woodland surrounds our Delamere Forest Club campsite. Located in the west of the county near Chester, Delamere Forest covers some 950 hectares providing outdoor lovers with boundless walking and cycling opportunities on its network of paths and trails direct from the campsite. There’s a Go Ape! course too – with zip wires and Tarzan swings - for those with a head for heights.

The mixed deciduous and evergreen trees of the forest surround the campsite. These green surroundings complement the campsite’s many environmentally-friendly features. The excellent on site facilities include a parent and child shower room, laundry and washing area in addition to showers and toilets. The site shop stocks the essentials, further afield RM Wilding and The Hollies farm shops supply a wider range of produce.

In nearby Delamere, Abbeywood Gardens incorporates a two kilometre wildlife walk, while Stonyford Cottage Gardens at Northwich has a woodland walk. Enjoy a boat trip along the River Weaver at the Anderton Boat Lift also near Northwich. The campsite is also handy for Oulton Park motor racing circuit near Tarporley.

To venture further afield, you can catch a train at Delamere station a short walk from the campsite where regular services operate to Manchester and Chester.

the site borders the forest with access straight from the site, Go Ape is a short stroll through the forest, as is a couple of cafes and great walks through the woods. Jodrell Bank, Hack Green Nuclear Bunker, Cheshire Oaks, Chester and Liverpool to name a few all within easy reach. The Hollies farm shop and cafe near Cheshire Polo club is fantastic Showers hot, but do have the irritating press the button every 20 seconds or so. Would stay again.

This review is for Delamere Forest

This site is one of the best in the network and provides lots to do for the walker, cyclist, and anyone who just enjoys the beauty of the outdoors. The Go Ape facility will be of interest with families with older children albeit there is cost. The site is situated in a very peaceful location with easy direct access to the forest, and is generally a wonderfully quiet spot apart from the noise generated by the nerby trainline which runs through Delamere station which is 5 minutes away. Regular trains to Chester and Manchester bring about additional holiday options and for those travelling together there is a 'Duo ticket' which makes a day out good value.
