The Camping and Caravanning Club appoints two new directors

Tuesday 7th April 2026
Two new staff director level appointments have been made at The Camping and Caravanning Club, to help shape the organisation’s continued development and support its mission to inspire the camper in everyone.
Joining the Senior Leadership Team are Chris Kent, Director of Finance, and Joe Medrek who has filled a newly created role as Director of Technology and Business Change.
Both bring a wealth of experience and insight that will strengthen the Club’s leadership as it builds on its long-standing work for members and a broader group of campers and outdoor enthusiasts. The appointments come during a landmark year as the Club celebrates its 125th anniversary.
Chris has spent most of the last 20 years working for leading UK travel brands, including Canvas Holidays and Hoseasons. At the Club he will be responsible for all aspects of the Club’s finances, including statutory compliance and developing financial plans and strategies.
Chris said: “My role is to lead and guide the Club on all financial matters, ensuring the finance team is aligned with colleagues across the business so we can appreciate the financial implications of key decisions collaboratively. Working with the team we will shape the next phase of the Club’s journey and focus on big strategic initiatives that will make a huge impact.”
Joe’s role is symbolic of the Club’s commitment to integrate technology in all aspects of its operations, enabling easier booking and smoother experiences for campers and employees.
Joe has worked in the hospitality and leisure industry for more than a decade, most recently at a family-owned pubs and brewery business. In his new role he will be responsible for bringing colleagues along the Club’s journey to integrate technology in all its day-to-day systems.
He said: “I have an exciting plan to embed technology in such a way that it’s seamless and easy to use for all our teams, whether they work at our head office or across our network of Club Sites.
“The technology team are focused on being digital enablers, refining everything from processes to customer journeys. I’ve been a hands-on tech person for several years. This will help me to support, challenge and coach the team from both a leadership and technical perspective.”
Sabina Voysey, the Club’s Director General, said: “I am delighted to welcome Chris and Joe to the Club. They both bring invaluable expertise and experience and will help drive our future success.
“Joe joins the Club at an exciting time as we have recently launched a new booking system, while Chris will provide strategic financial leadership so we can continue to deliver quality camping experiences for our members of today and tomorrow.”
Chris and Joe’s appointments come shortly after Andrew Dufty was appointed as the Club’s Director of Sales and Marketing. Andrew is responsible for the Club’s sales and marketing strategy, with a clear focus on driving commercial success, supporting member growth, optimising occupancy across the network, and introducing innovation to the Club, embracing trends like glamping and alternative ways to stay on site.
Chris, Joe and Andrew join Sabina Voysey and Darren Whittington, Deputy Director General, to complete the Club’s Senior Leadership Team.
