Surrounded by rolling hills and meadows, our Club Site at Umberleigh is in the Taw Valley – close to the beaches and moors of North Devon. There is also plenty to occupy the family on Site, with fishing, walks and tennis.

Umberleigh has a Tarka Line Railway station, Post Office, general outdoor clothing shop, antique shop, tea rooms and a pub.

Cyclists can take bikes on the train to reach the Tarka Trail – over 30 miles of cycle track – at Barnstaple.

Barnstaple has a good selection of shops, supermarkets and daily markets in the Pannier Market. The Queen’s Theatre and cinema provide daily entertainment.

The Royal Horticultural Society’s Rosemoor gardens are at Torrington. There are many other beautiful gardens in the area.

Dartington Crystal Factory Experience includes a factory tour.

Atlantic Village has many factory shops and the Atlantis Family Adventure Park for children.

The Cobbatton Combat Collection of military equipment is dedicated to the memory of those who used the equipment on display.

The traffic-free village of Clovelly is worth a visit.

Westward Ho! has one of Devon’s beautiful, sandy, Blue Flag beaches.

The Milky Way has rides for all the family and displays from birds of prey and ferrets.

Sheep racing, duck trials and laser war games are just three of the attractions at the BIG Sheep at Bideford.

Atherington and Chittlehampton villages are close by. Atherington church boasts the only wooden rood-loft left in Devon.

Children can enjoy free, fun tennis coaching on Site in high season.


Did You Know

New Barnstaple bridge opened in 2007 makes access to the north coast really easy from Umberleigh.

Worth Noting

Fishing on site, two tennis courts with free tennis coaching for children during school holidays – please bring appropriate tennis trainers. Indoor games in barn including pool table, table tennis, skittles and bar football. Dog exercise field and woodland walk. Please note new directions to site from M5 avoiding South Molton town centre (see map opposite).

Eat Local

Fishleigh Farm Shop sells local meat and award winning pasties.
