Club appoints new Director as it gears up for 2021 with a huge amount of optimism
Tuesday 15 December 2020
The Camping and Caravanning Club has appointed Emma Catterall as its Director of Finance, HR and Business Systems.
Emma joined the Club at the end of November and brings with her 25 years’ experience of working for leisure, retail and hospitality organisations. Most recently Emma worked for Merlin Entertainments where she held the role of Divisional Director at Alton Towers.
Before that Emma was Operating Group Finance Director across six Merlin resorts including Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park, and Warwick Castle.
The appointment completes the Club’s new-look Senior Leadership team following Sabina Voysey’s appointment as Director General last year.
Sabina said: “We are delighted to welcome Emma to the Club and she is joining us at a very exciting time. The challenges for the Club and our many members have been extraordinary this year on so many levels. However, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our staff and volunteers we are facing 2021 with a huge amount of optimism and our plans include opening two new campsites.
“Emma will play a vital role in the Club’s recovery through 2021 and beyond, and we look forward to Emma sharing her extensive knowledge and experience with us as we move the organisation forward together.”
The Club plans to open its entire campsite network next year as normally as government restrictions allow. Sabina added: “This year in particular has demonstrated the nation’s desire to enjoy the great outdoors and especially through camping in all its different forms. We are hugely excited about how the Club can continue to evolve and offer great experiences for our members in 2021 and for many years to come.”
Emma said: “I’m really excited to be joining such a long-standing membership organisation, which represents all that’s special about enjoying the great outdoors. I really appreciate the benefits of being outside, something that has become clearer than ever during the challenging year we’ve all had. I hope I can play my part in a strong leadership team to really take the Club forwards in 2021.”
The Club’s Senior Leadership team is:
Sabina Voysey, Director General
Darren Whittington, Director of Operations
Nathan Goodyear, Director of Property and Development
Nicola Simpson, Director of Marketing and Insight
Emma Catterall, Director of Finance, HR and Business Systems
