Social camping with the Club

Would you like to get even more from your Club membership?

Camping with your local group or District Association (DA) is one of the best ways to make the most of the great outdoors whilst making new friends at the same time. The Club has 93 DA’s spread across 13 Regions.

They offer some of the most inexpensive camping available and you’ll always be guaranteed a warm welcome. Your local DA is shown on your membership card based on your home postcode.

To belong to the same DA as family or friends it's easy to change or ‘opt’ to a different DA. Simply contact the Secretary of the District Association you would like to move to and they will send you an Opting Form to complete and return together with your Membership Cards.

As a member you are welcome to attend any Meet, either organised by your own or any other DA.

What can your District Association offer you?

  • Regular Meets held throughout the season, often on specially negotiated sites, such as parks and stately homes – find out more about Meets
  • Temporary Holiday Sites or basic sites with minimum facilities are held all year in a wide variety of locations, often close to major tourist attractions, ideal for an economical family holiday or weekend break – find out more about Temporary Holiday Sites
  • Social events where you can meet other members and make new friends – at events including BBQ’s, dinner dances, quizzes and a whole variety of activities
  • Activities for children are arranged at many weekend Meets

How can I find out more about events in my area?

The Club’s 93 District Associations are grouped into 13 Regions, each covering Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Each Region also organise a whole host camping opportunities including Meets and THS’s and run the Club’s major annual event The National Feast of Lanterns.

Regions are the link between District Associations and Special Interest Sections and the Club’s National Council, the Club’s governing body of elected members who make the Club’s policy decisions on behalf of members.
