"An idyllic location on the banks of the Thames"

This lovely, riverside Site is to the south west of London. A train ride away from the capital, it has a rural feel and is visited by foxes, squirrels and many river birds. Canoes can launch from the Site, which regularly hosts events by the Canoe-Camping Club.

Chertsey is in a great position – we used it as a base for exploring London. It was lovely to come back to such a peaceful Site after a day in the Capital. - Candy Evans

Weybridge station is near the Site. Trains take around half an hour to the centre of London from here.

Three theme parks are nearby: Thorpe Park is in Chertsey, while both Chessington World of Adventures and Legoland are only a short car ride away.

Windsor Castle, an official residence of the Queen, is the world’s oldest and largest occupied castle.

Kew, Wisley and Saville Gardens are internationally famous.

Garden lovers can also visit the Hampton Court and Chelsea Flower Shows.

Odds Farm Park is created to allow children to get close to the animals.

Brooklands Museum covers the motoring and aviation heritage of its site. It now includes Mercedes-Benz World.

Racegoers are well served with three courses – Epsom Downs, Kempton Park and Sandown Park.

Chertsey Museum has displays on the history of Runnymede, historic fashion exhibitions and a hands-on discovery zone.

Go Ape! is a high wire forest adventure where visitors can swing from tree to tree.

Walk along the towpath to Staines using part of the Thames Path National Trail.

Chertsey has supermarkets, shops and a cosmopolitan selection of restaurants and take-aways.


Eat Local

The local pub gives discounts to campers.

Worth Noting

Electric security barriers in operation here. Fishing is available from this site during the season (16 June to 15 March). Current Environment Agency rod licence is required before fishing can commence. Canoe launching only available from site. Towcars must remain on site overnight due to the possibility of flooding.
