As a regular visitor to the Site, I am impressed with the new hardstanding pitches which were put in this year (2007). Also being just one mile to Canterbury city centre and so close to Dover for day trips to France. It’s a great Site to visit. - Cyril Moore
The city of Canterbury is just a mile away.
Buses run from outside the Site into the
centre. Explore the city in style from a
horse-drawn carriage.
Canterbury cathedral has been welcoming visitors for at least 14 centuries. Today it is host to an international study centre.
Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales are the basis
of a visitor attraction at the heart of the city.
Join a walking tour and discover the rest of
the city with an official guide.
Whitstable is home to The Favourite, the
last of the Oyster Yawls that used to catch
shellfish around the Kent coast.
Howletts Wild Animal Park and the
African Experience are both home to a wide range of animals, from elephants to wolves.
Children and adults will enjoy the
Rupert Bear Museum. It has original Rupert drawings and activities for the children the enjoy.
The channel ports of Dover and Folkestone are to the south.
Sandy beaches are at the
traditional seaside resorts of Margate and
Broadstairs to the north east.
Kent’s unique woodland discovery park –
Wildwood – is in ancient woodland that dates back to the Domesday Book.
Fish locally for carp, bream, roach,
trench, rudd, perch, pike and trout.
Eat Local
The George and Dragon, and Fordwich Arms pubs are both a mile and a half away from Site.
Worth Noting
It is advisable to follow the Canterbury Ring Road to get to the site.
