Overview

Camping in the grounds of an ancient royal palace in the heart of Scotland.

Scone Palace is described as a breathtakingly beautiful place of power and mystery. It’s also the home of the celebrated Stone of Scone - also known as the Stone of Destiny – and our very own Scone Club campsite. Located in its vast estate, our campsite is a nature lovers’ paradise. Deer, buzzards, owls even ospreys have been spotted here. You might even find yourself sharing your pitch with one of the site’s resident black rabbits.

Our attractive, peaceful tree-line campsite has well-spaced pitches and excellent amenities including spacious showers and separate family and disabled facilities. There is a well-stocked shop with fresh rolls and newspapers delivered daily and a recreation room full of local information.

Scone Palace hosts many events and has amazing grounds, including the Lawns and Pinetum. Show your membership card to receive discounted tickets. Special rates are also available for grandstand tickets at Perth Racecourse next door to the campsite.

As well as some great walks along the river direct from site, sports lovers will be pleased to discover there are five golf courses within five miles of the campsite. There’s an award-winning Blue Flag beach at Broughty Ferry just east of Dundee. This sweeping stretch of golden sand is one of only eight beaches in Scotland to hold the Blue Flag status.

Just two miles from the campsite, the city of Perth has good shopping, a leisure centre and a theatre, while Pitlochry offers a children’s amusement park and Festival Theatre.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fly fishing (for trout only) is permitted on the River Tay, with permits available from the office. Only one car per pitch during high season and busy periods. Caravan Holiday Homes are available for purhcase.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Strawberries and other fruits are grown locally. Home-made cakes are sold at the Macmillan coffee shop 2.5 miles from the site. The site shop sells fresh Scottish morning rolls delivered daily, free-range eggs and strawberries in season.

My wife and I stayed here on our maiden camper van trip and were more than happy to find all the arrangements in place with simple access to our flat pitch, the manager took us there and offered a choice of pitches. There are plenty electric hook ups and we chose a grass pitch not far from the toilet/shower block as we hoped not to have to use the camper van toilet and shower on our first days excursion with the new camper van. The facilities are spotless and the grounds clean, tidy and well maintained. The 2 per day wi-fi is superb, (much better than we get at home), and we were able to watch live t.v. etc on our tablets. I'm not sure why someone here has previously complained about the "ugly toilet block", it is what it is, and difficult to see how it could be disguised as anything else! Maybe not an awful lot for kids and younger people to do, but altogether a very nice site and one that we would without question visit again. Our only comment would be that although there are the normal brown tourist information signs showing that there is a campsite at Perth Racecourse, there is no signage that we saw to indicate that this is the Scone Camping and Caravan Club site.
