Overview

Camping in the grounds of an ancient royal palace in the heart of Scotland.

Scone Palace is described as a breathtakingly beautiful place of power and mystery. It’s also the home of the celebrated Stone of Scone - also known as the Stone of Destiny – and our very own Scone Club campsite. Located in its vast estate, our campsite is a nature lovers’ paradise. Deer, buzzards, owls even ospreys have been spotted here. You might even find yourself sharing your pitch with one of the site’s resident black rabbits.

Our attractive, peaceful tree-line campsite has well-spaced pitches and excellent amenities including spacious showers and separate family and disabled facilities. There is a well-stocked shop with fresh rolls and newspapers delivered daily and a recreation room full of local information.

Scone Palace hosts many events and has amazing grounds, including the Lawns and Pinetum. Show your membership card to receive discounted tickets. Special rates are also available for grandstand tickets at Perth Racecourse next door to the campsite.

As well as some great walks along the river direct from site, sports lovers will be pleased to discover there are five golf courses within five miles of the campsite. There’s an award-winning Blue Flag beach at Broughty Ferry just east of Dundee. This sweeping stretch of golden sand is one of only eight beaches in Scotland to hold the Blue Flag status.

Just two miles from the campsite, the city of Perth has good shopping, a leisure centre and a theatre, while Pitlochry offers a children’s amusement park and Festival Theatre.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fly fishing (for trout only) is permitted on the River Tay, with permits available from the office. Only one car per pitch during high season and busy periods. Caravan Holiday Homes are available for purhcase.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Strawberries and other fruits are grown locally. Home-made cakes are sold at the Macmillan coffee shop 2.5 miles from the site.

We still consider ourselves to be newby caravaners as this is only our third time out. The staff (Ruan and Cath and Andy) made us so welcome and they were so helpful in getting our pitch sorted for us. The shower/toilet block was clean/warm, plenty of hot water and very roomy in the shower cubicles. We had a mixture of weather and a great walk by the river on a glorious sunny evening. The day we left was very wet but again staff were on hand incase we needed any help, fortunately we didn't. We would definitely be back. We went to The Hermitage which was about half an hour away and really worth a visit, fabulous trees and waterfalls, a great walk. Although is was quite busy we were never disturbed by any noise. We had our toy poodle (poppy) with us and she enjoyed meeting all the other dogs on site. They do say caravaners are friendly people and so far that has been our experience. Thank you Ruan and Cath for being so nice (and funny) and helpful.

Those moaning about recycling only has to walk an extra 15yrds and most sites close the loos etc around 10:00-10:30 to noon for cleaning. This site is just lovely. Good children's play area, but still peaceful. We even managed a layin until 9:30 and have never done that before. Just love it. Well sheltered and drained. We will be back.
