Overview

Camping in the grounds of an ancient royal palace in the heart of Scotland.

Scone Palace is described as a breathtakingly beautiful place of power and mystery. It’s also the home of the celebrated Stone of Scone - also known as the Stone of Destiny – and our very own Scone Club campsite. Located in its vast estate, our campsite is a nature lovers’ paradise. Deer, buzzards, owls even ospreys have been spotted here. You might even find yourself sharing your pitch with one of the site’s resident black rabbits.

Our attractive, peaceful tree-line campsite has well-spaced pitches and excellent amenities including spacious showers and separate family and disabled facilities. There is a well-stocked shop with fresh rolls and newspapers delivered daily and a recreation room full of local information.

Scone Palace hosts many events and has amazing grounds, including the Lawns and Pinetum. Show your membership card to receive discounted tickets. Special rates are also available for grandstand tickets at Perth Racecourse next door to the campsite.

As well as some great walks along the river direct from site, sports lovers will be pleased to discover there are five golf courses within five miles of the campsite. There’s an award-winning Blue Flag beach at Broughty Ferry just east of Dundee. This sweeping stretch of golden sand is one of only eight beaches in Scotland to hold the Blue Flag status.

Just two miles from the campsite, the city of Perth has good shopping, a leisure centre and a theatre, while Pitlochry offers a children’s amusement park and Festival Theatre.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fly fishing (for trout only) is permitted on the River Tay, with permits available from the office. Only one car per pitch during high season and busy periods. Caravan Holiday Homes are available for purhcase.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Strawberries and other fruits are grown locally. Home-made cakes are sold at the Macmillan coffee shop 2.5 miles from the site.

This was our first visit to Scone Camping and Caravanning Club site and it won't be our last.

This was our first visit to Scone Camping and Caravanning Club site and it won't be our last. Firstly, The warden (not allowed to name her apparently) could not have been more helpful, informative or considerate if she tried. From booking at the last minute to personally guiding us to our pitch nothing was too much trouble and as complete novices she gave us great advice and also some help when we were having some technical difficulty. The site itself is very nice and feels secluded but is an easy walk to town. There are some lovely walks around too particularly down along the river. We had a large hardstanding pitch with electricity hook-up which was ideal. The facilities were very good with a very well equipped shower/toilet block. It has great showers with plenty of hot water and were spotlessly clean and thankfully very warm (it was minus 3 degrees outside). It has everything a motorhome needs in the way of facilities all of which are very well and clearly signed. There's a laundry, information room and dishwashing room in addition to the well stocked shop. The only minor downside is the site isn't very well signposted from the main road but my satnav took us straight to the gates with no problem. All in all a highly recommendable site.

This was the latest we have ever been away in the caravan and we were not disappointed. The shower block was nice and toasty and the hot water in the showers was lovely and hot. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The facilities are kept spotlessly clean. We will be back!

We only had 1 night which was a pity as its so peaceful. We walked round racecourse and then along to river with the dog. It is so quiet and away from it all although actually its not far from scone and Perth.Shower block was immaculate and facilities great. Halloween was being celebrated by CCC and vans were all done up for competition which was lovely to see. Can't recommend highly enough.
