    Top site for walking

Located on the River Ure, this campsite is a great spot for walking or visiting nearby York.

Our pretty Boroughbridge Club campsite in north Yorkshire, just off the A1, is a great stop over site for those traveling up or down the country. Equally, its location close the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks makes it a good base for those wanting to explore Yorkshire’s many attractions.

The River Ure borders the campsite and provides somewhere to relax and watch the world float by. The campsite benefits from recently refurbished facilities, it also has a well-stocked shop and a large area for ball games.

There are a number of walking opportunities from site. The old town of Boroughbridge is within walking distance. There are a circular walks too, or you can enjoy a stroll along the river and to Ripon.

The delightful Harrogate – great for shopping and Betty’s Tearoom – and the city of York – with its famous minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre – are a drive away while Fountains Abbey, Studley Royall and Newby Hall make interesting days out.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this site. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the self-catering properties).

Available to buy are stunning holiday caravans and lodges. Visit the Club Holiday Homes website to find out more or call 02477 983801.

I arrived and the site had been hit by the recent severe flooding.

This review is for Boroughbridge

I arrived and the site had been hit by the recent severe flooding. The only spaces open was the overflow area, next to the busy road. The site manager apologised and said the main field was too wet to go on and even the overflow area had been under about 1.5 metres of water. This area had all been power washed over and everywhere was virtually spotless. Dave had spent a day starting to try get some of the main site open but during that night he had had to get up and retrieve all the equipment he had put out!! More water had overflowed into the main field after the persistent rain. The main site will be quite because it's over a bank but the overflow area is very noisy being next to a busy road. Enjoyed my stay and the stand in manager worked damn hard to ensure things went well for everyone even though his wife had to go into hospital during my stay

We arrived early but that wasn't a problem.

This review is for Boroughbridge

We arrived early but that wasn't a problem. We were shown to our site and left to settle ourselves in. We were visiting our son who lives a few miles away and we know Boroughbridge well as our son used to live there. It is a very clean and well maintained site within easy reach of York, Scarborough and many other towns. We were near the main entrance but did'nt really notice any road noise as mentioned in other reviews. We only stayed a couple of days as we had planned to visit other places on our way home but, we enjoyed the site so much we have rebooked for 2016. We took our Smart car with us and had no problems entering or leaving the site. Would recommend to anyone. One thing to note is the nearby river which apparently floods the site when it rains heavily, not that we had a problem with it whilst we were there.

We , myself, Skilo the dog, and George the cat (who is 22years old)should have been on site...

This review is for Boroughbridge

We , myself, Skilo the dog, and George the cat (who is 22years old)should have been on site for 17 nights but today, boxing day, 26the December we had to evacuate the site due to flooding. The staff were brilliant. We had to leave at 0515 as pitch was under 6inches of water. As we drove off in the motorhome 15 minutes later after abandening the awning and everything else the water was already 15inches deep and rising. What a fright but thanks to the staff we are all safe. Cannot praise the staff enough.

“What a lovely site this is. Stayed over a weekend in June for the first time with our 2 boys 11 and 8 and will be back again, one of the best c&cc sites we have been to. The site has a small play area for the kids and an area on 'the paddock' for ball games etc. Lovely peaceful site by the river (no direct access though) with regular visits from the ducks. Fish and Chip van visits the site on a tues, thurs and sat evening between 430 and 515 although we didnt get the opportunity to try this time. Boroughbridge is a short drive away or accessible on foot with directions available from reception, we had a lovely sunday lunch at the three horse shoes which was not over priced. Site also ideally located for visiting York and Harrogate. Looking forward to our next visit keep up the good work and thanks for a lovely weekend.”
