    Top site for fishing

Located on the River Ure, this campsite is a great spot for fishing & walking.

Our pretty Boroughbridge Club campsite in north Yorkshire, just off the A1, is a great stop over site for those traveling up or down the country. Equally, its location close the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks makes it a good base for those wanting to explore Yorkshire’s many attractions.

The River Ure borders the campsite and provides fishing opportunities in season or somewhere to relax and watch the world float by. The campsite benefits from recently refurbished facilities, it also has a well-stocked shop and a large area for ball games.

There are a number of walking opportunities from site. The old town of Boroughbridge is within walking distance. There are a circular walks too, or you can enjoy a stroll along the river and to Ripon.

The delightful Harrogate – great for shopping and Betty’s Tearoom – and the city of York – with its famous minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre – are a drive away while Fountains Abbey, Studley Royall and Newby Hall make interesting days out.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this site.

Available to buy or buy-to-let are stunning Exclusive Lodges. Visit the Exclusive Lodges website to find out more or call 0844 770 6860.

Very nice site, just off the A1 so convenient for North Yorkshire and the Dales but with beautiful and interesting towns like Knaresborough, Ripon, Harrogate and Boroughbridge all within a 30 minutes drive. Would certainly recommend the walk into Ripon and the excellent Fountains Abbey to visit. Although the site is situated next to the river Ure and so is in a rural location, The traffic on the A1 can sometimes be heard - this was not a problem to me.

Convenient location near motorway and in a beautiful area. Not so good for Harrogate, as takes ~40mins, but closer towns are worth exploring - Ripon, Riply, Knaresborough. Close to railway for York. Quite close packed site, but one of the quietist I've stayed on.

Paid for a super pitch as these were the only sort available, however they have got to be in the worse position possible ,right near to the very very noisy road ,with passing milk tankers every 5 mins with a view to match! We arrived after a horrendous journey with the M1 being shut for over 4 hours in torrential rain. The welcome wasn't the best we've ever had, we were taken to the pitch, managed to get some food and then we noticed the rain wasn't draining away. It was rising very fast, so fast that site manager came to us and said there is a problem with the manhole covers and raw sewage was coming up and we would have to get off the site At this point this raw sewage was 6 inches deep and smelt as you can imagine. As it was now 8.30 in the evening no assistance was given from the site personnel as to where we were to go,leaving only one option of driving back to solihull. This return drive also took 5 hours due to road / weather conditions According to the site personnel this flooding has happened on numerous occasions . I suggest it is way past time something is done to stop this happening in the future

“What a lovely site this is. Stayed over a weekend in June for the first time with our 2 boys 11 and 8 and will be back again, one of the best c&cc sites we have been to. The site has a small play area for the kids and an area on 'the paddock' for ball games etc. Lovely peaceful site by the river (no direct access though) with regular visits from the ducks. Fish and Chip van visits the site on a tues, thurs and sat evening between 430 and 515 although we didnt get the opportunity to try this time. Boroughbridge is a short drive away or accessible on foot with directions available from reception, we had a lovely sunday lunch at the three horse shoes which was not over priced. Site also ideally located for visiting York and Harrogate. Looking forward to our next visit keep up the good work and thanks for a lovely weekend.”
