Visiting Inverewe Garden & Estate
This luscious garden is a National Trust for Scotland property and is often described as ‘one of the most beautiful gardens in Scotland’.
Set on the edge of Loch Ewe, these historic botanical gardens are full of exotic plants from around the world.
They were first started back in 1862 as rock and scrub willows but now house blue poppies, rare Wollemi pines, New Zealand olearia and rhododendrons from as far reaching as China and Nepal; testament to what can be created with a little imagination.
As well as the beautiful array of plants and flowers, nature lovers should keep a close eye on the shores of the loch where they may catch a glimpse of wading birds, pine marten and otter.
