Visiting Fyrish Monument
The Fyrish Monument was built in 1782 near Alness at the instruction Sir Hector Munro who wanted to provide displaced local Highlanders with a way to earn money.
The monument, or folly as it’s often described, is believed to honour Sir Hector Munro's time in India.
The walk to the top doest require some stamina, but the views from the hilltop are magnificent and definitely worth the climb.
