Visiting Falls of Foyer
One of Scotland’s best kept secrets is a beautiful waterfall near to the shores of Loch Ness.
Known generally as the Falls of Foyer, the Gaelic name for the cascade is: Eas na Smùide meaning the ‘smoking falls’.
It is a steep walk down from the road to the viewing platform but well worth the effort. In 1787 Robert Burns the famous Scottish poet was so enthralled that he wrote a poem about the Falls of Foyers.
